As some people here know, I get sleepy ALL the time. I've been taking Celexa in the morning and Seroquel in the evening since spring, but it wasn't until August that I've been needing a nap every day.
Sometimes it gets so bad that I even have to take a cat-nap at work. Worse - seconds shut-eyes while driving - yep - foot on the peddle. I don't know what's going on. I did come down with bronchitis in August, but I'm mostly over it now. So my question is will the meds cause me to get sleepy even after all these months? Sorry for rambling - im sleepy. ![]() |

SS8282 - Ordinarily one has problems with sedation for the first month or two after starting Celexa™ (citalopram) and Seroquel™ (quetiapine). What is your daily dose of each of these medications? Have you had any recent dose increases? Have you asked your doc about slightly reducing the Seroquel dose to see if that helps any?

Celexa in the AM - 20mg
Seroquel in the PM - 25mg - I'm kinda petite. No increases in either meds. I did talk to my shrink today during my appointment, and he suspects celexa. He told me that there were other people who have similar problems, and he might call the drug company about it. Have you heard about this? or could it just be us Ontarians? |

SS8282 - I wonder if what is happening is SSRI "poop-out". Initially the SSRI works but six to nine months into therapy the person has a relapse of the depression. Often increasing the dose doesn't work and the person needs to switch antidepressants or add another antidepressant to the mix.
Could your tiredness be from a partial return of depression? Or is it a different sort of "tired"? - Cam |

It's different kind of tired than the depression. It's more physical - need sleep. I wake up feeling refreshed, until a few hours later, then I start yawning and feel sleepy. I do get depressed sometimes (mostly due to my persistent physical illness). Regardless, I'm constantly sleepy. I don't know if what I said helps.

Cam.... An interesting thing..... I was talking to a co-worker who also takes Celexa and he's been feeling very sleepy lately too, and doesn't know why.
