I met with my pdoc today to discuss my lack of attention. She asked a bunch of questions and determined that I have Adult ADD. Except now its just ADHD even if you don't have the hyperactivity which I don't. So we discussed the different meds for it and decided on Strattera. Are any of you on it and if so what side effects can I expect? She told me but I don't remember them. I swear I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached. When I was a teenager my mom took me to the doc to ask him about me having ADD and he told her because I was able to read this book I was reading I couldn't be ADD. In my opinon he thought my mom was nut case and didn't take her seriously. Looking back I see the symptoms all my life. When I was in early elementary school I was held back because I wasn't able to complete my work because I was always talking to my neighbor or getting up walking around seeing what everyone else was doing. I think growing up in the 70's in Nebraska it wasn't real well known or I would have been treated sooner.

I took Strattera for depression for a while, and it was a pretty easy ride for me. The one thing it did, though, was change my menstrual cycle -- big time. I don't know how or why it does it, but it does and it was a real shock because no one told me about it...
Otherwise, I don't remember any real problems. Good luck.

Hi Jbug
![]() I have never taken Straterra personally but my daughter did take it for a few years as she has ADHD. At first she had some stomach upset but taken with food eases that and eventually it go's away. She did NOT have any difficulty sleeping either which was a good thing. It worked wonders for her. She really improved in all area's (except organization). Her grades drastically improved. Her ability to stay focused was phenominal (sp). She had great results with this medication. I hope it works well for you also. Huggles, Jen |

hi, I have been on Strattera for about 5 months now The first two weeks were very hard, side effects included dry mouth, loss of appetite, very dizzy, hard time sleeping. But I would do it all over again. Strattera has changed my life, I am a new person, I am in school and getting all a's . Im 38 years old and have never gotten an a in my entire life. I can do things without being overwhelmed. It takes time to get your body used to the meds, but its well worth it. Let me know who you make out> G/Luck Chris
