You should all try taking the supplement, SAM-e. It's really really amazing. Gradually increase your dose of sam-e from 600mg to 1200mg a day while descreasing meds over a couple weeks. It's very very important that you take it on an empty stomach and that you take a reputable brand. Try Nutralife. It's the best I've found. Split the dose between morning and afternoon and take it on an empty stomach. It literally saved my life. It's natural, safe, and I haven't seen any side effects in my three years of on and off use. The best place to get it is www.bettersam-e.com or you can go to nutralife's corporate website, but it's more expensive.
no sexual side effects, no withdrawls I would recommend it to anyone. Except it says not to take it if you're bipolar |

Yikes....I'm sure everyone here would have a LONG talk with their prescribing doctors before decreasing their meds. It can be pretty complicated to taper off some meds.
I'm all for natural solutions and am glad the FDA is finally stepping up to the plate and actually making them verify their claims. What a concept! ;-) Anyhow....again, to state the obvious...as they say on TV, "check with your doctor first"! |

psypher - I'm glad that you've had success with Sam-e. I have known about this med for about 20 years, but I have not seen many people have any kind of sustained improvement with it. This medication seems to "poop-out" fairly quickly when used for mood disorders (eg. within a month or two). Also, if bought from a reputable manufacturer, I see no need to spend a lot of money on it. There is no patent and the body cannot tell who made it.
Just my 2¢ - Cam |
