|
i took a klonopin .5 mg tonight to knock myself out and prevent anything stupid. problem is it only worked for an hour and a half, then a neighbor slammed a door hard and I'm wide awake.
i'm struggling so much right now and so hesitant to reach out for help. i guess i just need hugs. |

have you been taking it long? I've had that with other meds when it knocks me out, but not for long. I'm hoping you got some sleep!

Klonopin, or benzodiazepenes in general, don't work all that well as sedatives. They do have light sedative effects, but usually not nearly enough to knock people out and keep them asleep, especially at that dose.
If you want an easily accessible sedative, go out and get some diphenhydramine (aka Benadryl). 2 or 3 of those (50-75mg) will knock someone out nicely and keep you asleep for a good chunk of time.

my pdoc gave me ambien and i've been taking that but don't want to. idk why, i just don't want to sleep.

I am on 400mg of Seroquel and it seems to work for me. It knocks me out cold. I also second the benedryl idea. I used to take benedryl before I got on meds to sleep.
