I would love to hear your experiences and/or ideas you have with meds regarding bipolar and panic disorder.

I've hit bottom with mine... Lamictal and Remeron.

Ones I've tried: Celexa, Zoloft, Xanex, Remeron, Prozac, Klonopin, Depakote, Lamictal, and Buspar

I'm quickly losing my patience and dare I say it... my sense of humor. ;-)

Hi,
Welcome to the forum, let me tell you I was diagnosed bipolar II (mild) 2 yrs ago. Here are all the things I've had at various times Zoloft,Prozac,Wellbutrin, Effexor, Remeron(sucks),Depakote(sucks),Celexa,Ativan, and Lithium. The combination of Celexa and Lithium has been good to me, I still get down days, but nothing like I use to, in fact I am weaning off Celexa under my doctor's supervision. I asked for Lithium because my brother has been on it for almost 30 yrs. and has been "magic" for him, he is bipolar I which is "rougher" than bipolar II. After my short experience with the other meds.(which all have made me gain weight, depakote made my hair start to fall out!) the Lithium has been the kindest, doesn't knock you out like Depakote and Remeron, man those last two made me a zombie! Now if I could only lose the 30lbs. they've caused me to gain, I'd be very happy and probably wouldn't have a need for antidepressants Sorry I don't know if this what you wanted to hear. Don't be afraid to tell your doctor if a med. sucks or not, they need to know, too bad if they do not want to hear about it, a good doctor will want to hear how you are doing with your meds. especially side effects. Take are and keep in touch.

You can add Trazadone,(Desryl) to my "list", I just was prescribed 50mg once at nite before bed, with hopes in helping me to sleep better at nite and NOT during the day (besides the usual Lithium) well I'll see where this takes me , have you had this one before? I hope it will help me Hope you are doing well.
Take care,
"darkeyes"

Bipolar II with anxiety.

Current meds are Zyprexa, Topamax, Klonopin and Ambien

A match made in heaven (at least for me)

Find your patience and your sense of humor fast, we need them desperately!

Bptoo and Darkeyes! You two behave! I want to hear studying, don't let it get too quiet up in your room Beep. I'll be up to bring nice big frosty glasses of homogenized milk and my famous tollhouse cookies, fresh out of the oven (I discovered my secret recipe for the cookies on the back of the bag of chocolate chips ... shhh .... don't tell anyone).

........ Ooops! .... Sorry Beep! .... at first reading I thought that the match made in heaven was you and DE; when in actuality the match made in heaven was you and your drugs. Silly me.

As for the drugs, I noticed, for me at least, it really is funny how only their names have changed over the years. Zyprexa = a bottle of good bourbon that is chasing several of any opiates; Topamax = speed; Klonopin = reefer; Ambien = 'ludes. Only this time around the mind is clear .... um .... clearer, and we don't have to keep the curtains closed anymore.

Take care - Love Cam

Hey I remember "ludes" from High School days! Wow that was VERY long time ago. . . All joking aside, "self-medication" use to be more effective than some of the regimine (spelling) the doc uses,ha!ha! even targeted the problem with more precision, ha!ha! One has to keep their humor when life throws you a curve, right? I hope you are enjoying your new job

Well, after a visit to my med person on Monday... she has added Risperdal and Klonopin to the mix (Lamictal and Remeron). I've noticed an immediate change with taking Risperdal. I take it before going to bed and the next morning I typically do well but then notice that around lunchtime I start to decline. Does anyone have experience with Risperdal?

I'm beginning to think that I will soon need one of those handy dandy pill cases that will make me feel ancient beyond my years. Ugh! Medication Roulette

j,

I have a friend that took the Risp for a longtime and experienced the same thing at startup, but once it got into her system she said it was the best med she ever took. Unfortunately her insurance changed and she can't get it covered now....

I hope it works out great for you!
