and have=
My prozac is no longer working; my psy. is weaning me off of it and having me switch to zoloft, which I will be taking at nite (which is fine with me). She also prescribed me antihestimines for my anxiety.

Antihistamines like in allergy medication? I actually find that those increase my anxiety intensely, to the point I feel like I'm going to die.

Antihistamines for anxiety?? I haven't heard of that one. Could you tell me the reasoning behind that? I'm curious. I know that antihistamines can make you drowsy, which is why it's used in over-the-counter sleep aids, but I hadn't heard of it being effective for anxiety. I guess I hadn't really thought of it for that purpose. Let me know how that works for you.
Thanks for this!

I know that sounds wierd, but the ones she gave me were so sedating that it's supposed to help you relax. I took a dose earlier today and it really relaxed me.

Atarax is an antihistamine that is often prescribed for anxiety. I use it myself and I prefer it since all the ativan types are a bit too mellowing for my comfort.

Hey shortandcute-I've heard of that before and tried it along time ago. It didn't work for me or many of the other patients I was with, when I was in a psych ward. I think some docs do it, because they think people become too dependent on the benzos. Valium works the best for me! Best of luck!!
