Hi,
So long story short, My Shrink whom I respect and trust has advised me to get back up to 100 mg Zoloft (then 150 then 200) which is where I was a few years ago. I was feeling so well I backslid and finally crashed ![]() My question is this- Has anyone split their dose in half i.e (50 mg am 50 mg pm), and if so has it mitigated any of the anxiousness one can have in the beginning a med? Thanks. |

I'd say ask your doc. While you are increasing it might be possible with less side effects your way, for the effect I can't see it would differ if you split the dosage or not. It's a long acting med so it will build anyway.

I'm on 100 now , with mood stabilizers and other meds it has helped with my racing thoughts I still get anxiety. My pdoc had cut it down to 50 once I was manic, but then I crashed into depression, and I'm back on 100

It can be taken in two doses, but check with your pdoc first for his instructions.

Are you sure that the increased zoloft causes you more anxiety. That would be a pretty uncommon side effect.

According to my med book it is a common side effect, especially in the beginning of treatment. I think it goes for all the SSRIs, that you can feel worse before better, anxiety wise as well.
