Zyprexa isn't one of the AAPs I've liked mainly since it didn't help with mood stability and made me hungry! I prefer Latuda or Seroquel...I know most get hungry on Seroquel but thank goodness i don't and it is amazing for sleep.

i dont get hungry with seroquel either, zyprexa was horrible in that it made me want to eat the entire refrigerator ( metal and all )

zyprexa was the first aap i was tried on, didnt really notice much change in mood either... besides getting depressed over gaining weight

so far on seroquel its helped with my GAD but i still have panic, i think its also helping with sleep.. but it doesnt knock me out like it used to

do you notice any improvement with the zyprexa?

Olanzapine works very well with my Fluoxetine. The combo of the two does help stabilize my mood.

Hi, I take 10mg in the night, and sometimes 5mg throughout the day if I need it. Zyprexa has worked really well for me, it's helped bring my positive symptoms under control to the point where they are manageable most of the time, sometimes I am still bothered by the voices, the racing thoughts, the disorganization, etc. though, and the Prozac I take in combination helps with the depression and other negative symptoms. The biggest side effect for me is weight gain, I've gained about 50 pounds in a year, and drowsiness when I first started it, although the longer you take it, the less drowsy you feel. Hope it works out well for you.

I take 10mg nightly, along with 6mg of risperidone. My doc added the olanzapine since I couldn't take any more risperdal without side effects. Biggest side effect - extreme hunger, though it is getting a little better now
