OCD symptons are very difficult to pinpoint a perfect medication to rid you of these problems. I don't take any medications because I'm quite sensiive to most antidepressants and nueroleptics. I have heard that litium can decrease some symtoms of OCD, however, this is just my opinion. I hope you find some assistence with finding the right medication that will work.
The world is a huge puzzle and we, humankind, are the pieces of this puzzle. I wish we all could work together to find our proper places then the world would be a big beautiful masterpiece.

Some people I know who have OCD (one being my cousin) He was put on Zoloft for it, and now he is on Celexa.
Most anti-depressants work for OCD, all medication is different though, there are however alot of medications out there, it's something to do dicuss with your doctor.... <font color=red>~Sundance~</font color=red> <font color=blue>"Never react emotionally to criticism. I have tried both Celexa and Zoloft and although they worked pretty well they didn't work as well as my Doc and I had hoped it would. I was told by my Doc that they are certain meds specifically designed for OCD patients such as Luvox, Anafranil, etc. Psychiatrist barely give you the time of day when you meet with them I find it best to do my own research on my medications and present them with the information I discovered.

Psychiatrist barely give you the time of day when you meet with them <hr></blockquote> That is not true, my psychiatrist has done wonders for me, and she is still with me after 7 yrs, so not all psychiatrists are like that.. Just wanted to point that out. The Zoloft helped my cousin with his OCD for a bit, but it did stop working, I don't know how he is doing on the Celexa, last I heard it was helping. Research is a good thing, just beware of some websites because not all their information is exact. I wish you the best of luck... ![]() <font color=red>~Sundance~</font color=red> <font color=blue>"Never react emotionally to criticism. Analyze yourself to determine whether it is justified. I have been on Zoloft for many years. it's pretty good for OCD along with depression. I do know thow that Anafranil turned me into a zombie for the two days I tried it. I suggest you consult with a psychiatrist with all the information you have learned.

Butterfly,
Thanks for sharing your experience with Prozac for your OCD symptoms. I am really glad that it helped you. Unfortunately, when I took it it made me very jittery like a caffeine rush so with my doc's advice I stopped and switched to Lexapro my current med and although Lexapro is pretty good it is not as good for me as it is on others.
