((ouch))

I'm sorry you're feeling more anxious. Have you called your doctor to let him/her know you are experiencing this so possibly something can be done.. the Wellbutrin dosage adusted, another med added?

In the meantime, you could call a pharmacy or look up Wellbutrin (Google, WebMD, etc) and see if this is a common side effect and if so, whether it is likely to subside in time.

I hope you feel better soon!

I took Wellbutrin 7 or 8 years ago and that is my recollection that I felt very anxious on it--I think that was the primary reason I stopped taking it. It seems like for me with any antidepressants, it was a difficult effort to bring me up to a "normal" mood without anxiety and agitation setting in shortly. I just started Lamictal, I hope that will help.
Sorry about the anxiety. I don't know about others, but I find it more intolerable than depression I think.

Wellbutrin SR 150mg was added in January. I also take Prozac and Adderall and I'm noticing more obsessive thoughts, more anger and anxiety.

But, my sex drive has sky rocketed and that was why it was initially added because Prozac deadened me....

However, I may have to call my Pdoc because I'm more stuck on negative defeating thoughts than ever...

I am on 450 mg of wellbutrin and I don't have problems with it making me anxious. I did start out slow and work my way up to the 450. At first my stomach was upset and I did have a bit of an uneasy feeling, but it faded after a couple weeks.

I had a horrible time on Wellbutrin. I started out very slowly, and didn't it make it to the therapeutic dose. I suffer from anxiety to begi with, and I don't believe this med should be given to someone with that disorder. It made it so, so much worse. I was scared all the time.

As well, my heart rate went skyrocketing. I was well into tachycardia. I remember one time just dust-busting the kitchen floor, and then I had to sit perfectly still on the couch for about 40 minutes while my heart slowed down and my I got my breath back. I thought I was going to have a heart attack right then and there.

Anyways, the doctor took me off it immediately after measuring my pulse in her office, and put me on a big dose of Ativan to help bring the rate down quicker (this was before I was on an anti-anxiety med as part of my daily regimen).

So, yes......Wellbutrin made me very anxious to start with....and then it just got worse. But some people have excellent results with it. Everyone is different. Good luck with whatever you decide.

God bless,
Sandy

I had a horrible experience on Wellbutrin. I don't remember if it increased my anxiety, but it threw me into a horrid depression. I hadn't been depressed in over 10 years at that point and the depression I experienced was worse than anything I had ever experienced. I suppose I was more anxious -- I was worrying about all sorts of things. I started to become convinced that my brain had been permanently damaged by ADs and anti-anxiety meds I had taken in the past. My doctor had me stop taking Wellbutrin and I felt better once it was out of my system.

About a year before that happened, my doctor had me add a small dose of Wellbutrin to the Celexa I was taking at the time (for anxiety and panic attacks). The idea was that the Wellbutrin would make the Celexa work better (so I could stay on a relatively low dose) and the Wellbutrin would lessen some of the groggy side effects I was experiencing with Celexa. So, it worked fine in combination with Celexa. I didn't have a bad experience with Wellbutrin until I took it by itself.

You should talk to your doc and see what he/she thinks. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Good! I'm glad you're feeling better. I liked Celexa too -- helped a LOT with the anxiety, but unfortunately it made me feel very lethargic. I weaned myself off it a year ago. Now I'm on Lexapro -- that works very well for me too and I don't feel as tired as I did on Celexa.

I'm taking it at night, so it's ok. In the morning it made me very tired! but then again, I was also taking seroquel to sleep (now trying to wean off of it)
