Is anyone else on Depakote and receiving tremendous relief? All I ever hear from people is that it's disgusting, but I feel so much better now that I'm not a Lithium Zombie anymore.

I'm on a lower dose of Depakote (750 mgs) in tandem with a few other meds for night time. Thus far, I am finding it to be quite helpful with little side effects.

I know what you mean about Lithium.... I've spent a goodly amount of time doing my best to avoid that medication by trying everything else but.

I started out on Depakote. It was okay until my levels came back too low for the drs. opinion. He started me out at 250, then 500, then 750, 1000 and finally 2000. I said, uh-uh, no more. I was getting trembling hands, shakes at night, and episodes that wouldn't let up. I hated Depakote.
Plus the fact that it's hard on the liver. The shrink wouldn't change my med. so I changed shrinks. My family dr. put me onto Lamictal, and the rest is "heavenly" history!!!
