I am taking seroquil now at night that does let me sleep though I do feel a bit groggy in the day (seroquil vs depression??) I am about to up my dose of lexapro from 10 to 20 and wonder if I am a working girl... when is the best time to take the meds. Pdoc is leaving it up to me though I would like to know when.
Is there a significant grog increase with moving from 10 to 20? I take 10 at night. |

Hi SG,
Have you noticed any difference in taking lexapro 10 mg at night vs. during the day? I was recently talking to my PCP about the best time to take Lexapro, as I may start on that. She said that once you are established on it, it shouldn't matter, because of its long half life. It builds up to a certain amount in your system and stays fairly constant. That's why you only need to take it once a day. But I think it is always a good rule of thumb to take the med at the same time each day. I don't know when is the best time for seroquil or whether it has a short or long half life. Good luck! sunny

I used to take it (before I lapsed) in the day and now I take it at night. It seems to work either way. The thing is the seroquil (I take for sleep, etc.. ) and I do not know if the grogginess I am experiencing is the seroquil or this lovely depression.
I hear that it will take another 7-14 days for the upgrade to kick in. Just have to be optimistic. It would be great to take it all at one time. I have a call in to pdoc but think he will not respond. We shall see. I have never taken more than 10 mg. It sedates me but hear it does the opposite for others. Thanks Sunny. |

I was taking seroquel, citalopram and wellbutrin, and needing 12 hours sleep a night, and finding it very difficult to wake up and get up. When I came off the meds, I could wake up much easier (just lacked the motivation to get up!). I thought seroquel was great for getting to sleep, but I think it might have contributed to the fatigue.

I do not doubt that. I think I am living it.....

Yeah, I'm tippy-toeing a bit given my meds combo, but I had the same question about depression/meds causing the fatigue, and I am now convinced it was the meds.

Increased Lexapro last night to 15 and did not sleep much last night. This could be a long day. Not sure how to do this....... tired on many levels. So need the meds to sleep... but they grog me.

Sorry to be obvious but best to discuss with your pdoc when you get a chance.
