I'm visiting my psychiatrist on Monday. I have been taking Seroquel for about a week, because I've had acute hypomania and I didn't want to take it because I gained weight on it in the past but it was all I had. So I'm seeing him Monday to hopefully get on something that I'm more comfortable with.
I am interested in Geodon because I hear it's weight neutral. However I trade it for a couple weeks in the past and had a slight feeling of being anxious or overstimulated. Maybe that was too much caffeine though I'm also interested in Latuda, if I can get a discount card because I hear it's weight neutral and worked works for some people
Anybody have any experiences with Gia Don, or Latuda, for bipolar one or bipolar two?

Oh, I'm also concerned about Geodon as it says it can cause heart issues. Is this a regular thing

I take Latuda and love it. It's weight neutral and I don't have any side effects. I use their savings card. Brings my copay form 65 to 15.

I've taken Seroquel, Seroquel XR, and Latuda.

I wasn't a fan of Latuda. It made me too sedated. While it somewhat worked for my depression at 40mg, I needed to increase my dose to at least 60mg in order for it to be fully effective for my depression. The problem with 40mg is that it was already too sedating for me, so I actually upped it to 60mg anyway, but doing that made me WAY too sedated. Gave up on the drug.

Seriously, for some reason, I'm more sedated on Latuda than I am on Seroquel!

But anyways, Latuda is a great drug for some people (some people even call it a lifesaver), but I found it didn't help with my hypo/mania at all.

I like Seroquel XR. Regular Seroquel knocks me on my ***, but Seroquel XR is okay for me, so I'm still on it. The intense Seroquel hunger went away for me after 2-3 weeks of starting it (can't remember if it was 2 or 3 weeks).

I'm on Seroquel and Latuda, but am slowly coming off the Seroquel. Seroquel really helps my sleep, but it has made me gain a lot of weight. Besides helping my sleep, Seroquel hasn't done anything to help me. Latuda, however, is quite helpful for depression. In fact, it's one of the few meds that has been helpful for me.

Neither Seroquel nor Latuda did anything for hypomania for me. Seroquel works great for my anxiety and OCD stuff. Latuda made my skin crawl and just generally made me feel weird. I was only on it for a week and my doc took me off of it.

I'm on Vraylar now and loving it. It's weight neutral and seems to work well for both depression and hypomania. It's not a quick fix, though. Seemed to take several months for effects to really kick in.

I haven't noticed an increase in anxiety since starting Vraylar. If anything, my anxiety has decreased.

I used to take Seroquel and was switched to Latuda because Seroquel was too sedating. I've found Latuda to be a great medication. I've had no side effects. It's helped balance me out overall. My psychiatrist increased the dosage when I experienced symptoms of mania and it seemed to help with mania as well as depression. I take 160mg at night so I sleep through any sedation it may cause. I don't experience any sedation in the morning. I've been taking it since 2014.

Oh, and Geodon was by far the weirdest med I've ever been on. It caused me to feel very tired, but at the same time, terrible insomnia.
