So sorry you are having such a hard time with paxil withdrawal. I have never been on it, but I have heard it can be difficult. Hang in there, things will get better. Maybe your doctor can give you something to aid with the w/d?

Ahh, I can empathize. Paxil withdraw is horrible. I had as you called it "the whoosh effect" pretty bad. I just stayed in bed a couple days and listened to music to calm myself down.

Hope you feel better soon!

My mom was on paxil and she said the withdrawal was horrible. Sorry, the only thing I have to offer you is a hug...

I've heard that Benadryl (diphenhydramine) helps with the woosh thingie. Also, a single 20 mg dose of Prozac can eliminate much of the withdrawal sequence altogether. It has a very long half-life, and sort of self-titrates its own withdrawal.

I've been on paxil for about a month now. Had 2 days that were actually pretty good. Since then .. well .. since then I know that the paxil isn't what I need. My doc put me on adivin along with the paxil (forget why...) .. but I've been having some Very disturbing dreams. Some I don't care to mention (yet) .. others are drinking dreams .. i quit 15 years ago .. lately been dreaming of getting drunk tooo much!
Anyway .. I know this doesn't help with your withdrawal .. i'm being selfish i suppose, cuz i know i have to go off the paxil .. and so i'll be looking for the easiest way to do that .. anyway
I'm wondering if an herbal like St.Johnswort might help..
I do hope your withdrawals stop soon and the sun shines in your world ..
