A couple years ago I got pulled over while driving and had my meds in a pill case, because they were not in the prescription bottles I spent around two hours having to explain my meds and prove I was high. They even called for backup. Since then I have just been carrying a large purse that I can fit all the medication bottles in, that is around 5 bottles not counting anything otc. I was using pull pack for a while which I really liked but I have an overdue will with them I cannot cover right now.

I have tried daily pill cases, so there is not enough in the cases to alarm the police but I have always had trouble remembering to switch out for a new case every day and end up missing dosages. I am just looking for some opinions. I was looking at this big compartmented bottle that you put the full prescription in a section of the bottle but I feel like that opens me back up to legal issues.

I use an a.m. p.m. case. I refill it every Sunday and have had no issues with missing my dosages.

I have a pill caddy as well at home. When I travel I take the pills in their original containers.

I don't carry mine with me. I take am right after I get up and pm right before bed. So I use two weekly containers. My bottles I keep in an old bag in the spare closet. If I go someplace over night I just take the weekly containers but for longer or flying I take the bottles in an oversized handbag the OTC stuff can go in the luggage as I can replace that.

I keep my meds In a small storage bin. I only take 6 pills a day so I just take them out of the bottle.

If I’m going on a trip I use a pill box.

I use a med box for my meds. I usually take them with me, in case I eat something. That way I could take my meds when needed.

I have two 7-day pill organizers, a big one for supplements and a small one for meds.

I have a little keychain vial. When I wake up in the morning I put my meds for the day in the vial on my keychain so I always have them.

When I am going somewhere around town or not a long trip, I have a regular prescription bottle in my backpack with a complete 3-day supply of all my meds and the important supplements. I use the bottle from the most controlled med I take, which currently is dexedrine, since that's the one that would require the most explaining.

So, I do think about how I might deal with it if the cops search me, but have decided that my happy medium is much more on the side of staying organized and not missing doses etc, vs what may happen with the cops every few years. That being said, I'm also a white dude with a natural aversion to interacting with cops at all, and minimal tendency for arrestable behavior (and when I am likely to be arrested, it's probably at a protest, and thus I've got more documentation if I need meds with me).

I've had that happen to me once, but mine were in the prescription bottles. Still they questioned me about all the medicines I take for about 10-20 minutes. I had to name them off and their dosages before the cops believed me. They left me alone once they asked what all the meds were for, pretty much as soon as I said I'm Bipolar they didn't want anything to do with me. Which I'm okay with. But to answer your question .. I keep mine in an am/pm organizer. But when I travel I take the prescription bottles.

I wonder if it would make things easier if you carried a picture of all of your pill bottles on your phone?

I carry meds in daily dosage things even when flying. I figure TSA is looking for bombs and weapons and not someone smuggling a weeks worth of even controlled substances.

I sort pills once a week. I wonder if having the meds all divided up into daily dosages would make the police less suspicious.

I use a 7 day organizer that has 4 times per day, and I set it up as two weeks of meds, am and pm. This doesn't actually mean I remember to take my meds always, but it does mean I only need to set it up once every two weeks. Also, sometimes I cannot remember if I took my meds, so it is good to check. I carry my case in a ziplock bag when I travel. TSA has never questioned it. They question the Coffee Mate - powdered milk - every time though!!

I have two 31 day pill cases that I fill. One for AM and one for PM. I also have a small case that has seven sections that I carry a few extras in. In all honesty I just figure I'd deal with the cops if it ever came to that because otherwise I would always forget my meds or take the wrong ones or double dose, etc.

I think the idea of putting day's dosage in your most controlled prescription bottle is a good one, unless for some reason that made the police more suspicious which I also can imagine. I also think telling them you're bipolar is likely to scare them off as ridiculous as that is.

As it happens I take my sleep medicines and Xanax in prescription bottles when I travel, but only because I don't want to confuse them with the other meds which are in a case. If I were to be stopped and searched for some reason, then let the police check with my doctor and my pharmacist. It would take my time but theirs too if they wanted to bother.

I just use a pill container and put my whole days worth in it. It's illegal to carry my pills like that in my state, but how am I supposed to carry all my pill bottles?

I have too many pills for a pill organizer, so I keep mine in a little chest of drawers. The top drawer has my morning meds. The middle drawer has my mid-day meds, and the bottom drawer has my nighttime meds.
