OK, so not really a drug per se, but an alternative drug question.

About 3 months ago, I started taking Ginko Biloba 60 mg daily to try and help me with my ADD. At first I felt like it was helping, then I had a spurt about 2 months ago where I was very focused and even happy for about a week straight. I was so excited - I was sure that the Ginko Biloba was the answer and that I wouldn't have to consider prescription meds to help me deal with the ADD.

So I went online and ordered more, but from a different manufacturer and a different dosage - from 60 to 40 mg (didn't notice this until after I received the order). I had someone tell me that the GB may be contraindicated in people with migraines (which I have) so I thought it might be good to cut back the dose anyway so here I've been on the 40 mg for about a month now. But I don't feel the same as I did before. The ADD is back - although not as bad as before. I'm hesitant to double my dosage which would be 80 mg, but rather than just buying more 60 mg caps, I'm wondering if it was just coincidence feeling better during that period of dosage. Maybe it didn't help at all and I should look into something else.

Is the GB the right herbal treatment for ADD? Maybe I should try something all together different and just chalk up the stockpile that I have now to lessons learned??

You can take valerian root (1 pill) 3x's a day and that will help you feel calmer just know it can make you drowsy @ first. Chamomile tea can help too. I would say the Ginko from the first maker was a better quality you have to be careful when buying herbs b/c the FDA doesn't regulate them @ all. If you are into herbal meds you might find holding a piece of hematite or tiger's eye in you left hand and meditating for a few min each day helpful too. Good Luck.
