Does anyone know if this is a factor with this drug, or had this happen with something completely different?
I will be bringing this up next Tuesday at my appt, i heard that it can disrupt REM sleep and that is why I wake up feeling crappy, never refreshed. I feel like I can sleep for days on end. How am I supposed to work feeling like this every morning? I've only woken up 2 times 6 months or less feeling awake. Got any ideas? ~Sundance~ "Never react emotionally to criticism. I found an article that suggests that Remeron increases sleep quality and does not affect REM sleep. The abstract is here:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...&dopt=Abstract I'm sorry I don't know how to make it a link. When I took Remeron my doc told me that it was called REMeron because it improved sleep. (It didn't help my sleep, but did help my anxiety). Good luck. |

thanks you I will bookmark this article and read it.
I sleep long hours, and can go to bed easily, it's just waking up is hard. Sometimes it feels like I can sleep for days. Always waking up groggy, headachy etc. I still dream, and what not. I rarely even wake up throughout the night it's usually a straight 10 hour sleep. I have tried to get up early everyday, but it doesn't seem to work. I heard that depression can cause disturbances in REM sleep, I don't know .I'm going to bring it up to my psychiatrist when I go see her early this week, thank you for the link. ![]() ~Sundance~ "Never react emotionally to criticism. I do not know about what effects it has on REM, but I can tell you I was on it only3 weeks a few years ago and the Remeron made me so tired and emotionless, I was a zombie, so my pdoc allowed me to stop taking it, especially i was in the throws of a fatal sort of depression and the Remeron made me worse.
I guess again, all meds affect everyone differently, sometimes good and bad. I would definately be sure to take this up with your pdoc when you go to your appt. Meanwhile, please take care DE In giving advice seek to help, not please your friend SOLON

It makes me sleep really well. The more you go up in mg the less side effects you get.
The still can to sleep well, the grogginess and waking up is hard. Had that this morning but not so bad. Otherwise the pills have been working great, that is my only complaint with this. I never felt like zombie but I felt sedatied all week when first on it. Otherwise, no other side effects. The first pill that made me feel great, other then waking up feeling like crap... Depression wise Remeron is working great, same with my anxiety it's been helping. All meds do affect people differently, i'm sorry you had such a hard time on it Darkeyes. I will be bringing it up to my Pdoc on Tuesday. Anyways gotta get ready for my BF's birthday party. ~Sundance~ "Never react emotionally to criticism. Yeah, I understand all meds affect others differently, and I am very happy that you are having a favorable response with this, quality of sleep is so very important, sleep allows brain chemistry to regroup as you re-generate, if a person never sleeps, this brain "chemistry" wouldn't be able to take place, we all need REM
![]() A lot of people I have met have had favorable responses with Remeron, I would never discourage anyone from a med that works well with them, meds are not like "one size fits all" sort of thing, right? I am happy for you and I am wishing you continued progress with this ![]() Take care now, DE In giving advice seek to help, not please your friend SOLON

You are right darkeyes, I've had Celexa just work terribly for me, felt like crap on it but it worked for others. Just like I know Mirtazipine works for some people and others have had horrible reactions to it like I did with Celexa.
I have my appointment tomorrow morning at 10:10am with my psychiatrist so it's written down so I remember to bring it up to her. I was ok waking up today, but still felt crappy. ~Sundance~ "Never react emotionally to criticism. Well that didn't get brought up at my appt, I thought that I wrote it down, maybe I did and over-looked it? Maybe i'll have to go over that sheet I brought in and see if I did write it down.
