Just lost my pdoc today and t because no car to get to appointments .. problem is i am on klonopin 4 times a day 0.5 .. have been for about 6 months .. can anyone please tell me HOW to withdrwal from it please? ..

Well you really should do it with a Dr.;s supervission. But i'd say go slowly - take one less tablet a day for about a week, then another tablet less, and so on. You'll probably have some rebound anxiety but you're not on that high a dosage and haven't been on it that long.

I would suggest you do it under a doctor's care as well but a benzo taper is pretty standard. However, if you have any other co-occurring illnesses it is best to consult with a doc.

Break your tablet in half and take .25 in the am, then the .5 for the other three doses. Do this for 3 days. Then cut the 2nd dose in half, so it is .25 in the am, next dose is .25 and then the last two doses remain .5mg. Do that with the third dose and the 4th dose until you are down to .25 qid (four times a day.) After the three days at this dose, then cut out the first dose and drop to three times a day x 3 days, then twice day x 3 days, then 1 at night for 3 days and then go off. Always reduce the first dose, then 2nd dose, then 3rd dose, then the nighttime dose last.

Please, please contact your doctor if you run into problems. This is considered a "safe" taper in general.

Thank you for the helpful information! Yes - it makes sense
I cant call my pdoc anymore .. maybe i can speak with her nurse.
according to her her she has to many patients to deal with.
