Hi. I am on three medications: Paxil 60 mg, Geodon 20 mg twice a day, and Xanax 0.5 mg twice a day. My diagnosis is OCD. Obsessions and compulsions are now nearly absent. Last night and a few nights ago, I began feeling extremely shaky. My leg would shake and I felt like inside of me was shaking. Anyone ever have this? I've been on this medication for about six months.

I haven't been on those meds, but others I have. The best advice I can give you is to call your doc who prescribed it and see what he thinks, maybe you may need to have your dosage adjusted or even one of the meds eliminated.
Just don't let it go by for too long
Take care,

Yeah, I will call doctor. The first time I had it, I thought I had the flu. My mom just got over a pretty bad flu, so I thought maybe that was just it. Now I'm thinking it might be the medication. I'll check it out.

That's good It is better to be safe than sorry, and don't feel intimidated if he or she says "maybe", "it's possible", sometimes they can make you feel like that, I go as far as looking up side effects of whatever I am on, print it out or bring the monograph from the pharmacy I purchased the meds. from, and bring them to my doc at my next visit and go over this with him, etc. sometimes I feel he humors me about this, but he is very good too about understanding this problem and will make the effort to give a more compatible "mix" and even "plus or minus" the possible major culprit, but he feels if there isn't any big deal, problematic, side effects (or my complaints) that it is best to stay with it and not mix around too much, which is a common sense approach
Sorry to ramble, but I am just happy to hear you'll check it out
Good luck

Hi ada37,
Me too! I was on Aropax (paroxetine) 20mg then upto 40mg, the constant feeling of nausea and the tremors made me feel much sicker than any anxiety I had been experiencing. If I missed a tab I would develop major headache. The tremors would kick in (no pun intended) anywhere and people would notice and inquire about my wellbeing. The shakes looked very much a symptom of stress and I was perceived by others to be anxious!!!! Dropping the dose back to 20mg helped reduce the effects. After about 15months, in consultation with my psych I chose to discontinue the medication and getting back to the serious stuff of cleaning up my lifestyle so I could manage better. I know when I keep on the healthy path I can manage most things that come my way.

Ada37 you sound as if you like to be informed and empowered to maintain some autonomy, don't be influenced by the doctor's attitude to your seeking information, none of it is magic and mirrors and cold facts often relieve anxiety when we understand why something occurs and choose what level of discomfort we are prepared to tolerate. It is not much chop when the cure acts as a counter irritant!

I hope you find the right balance for you.
Regards Frances

Thanks Frances. I thought it might be the Geodon because that's fairly new, but it could be the Paxil (I believe that's also paroxetine). My doctor called back when I wasn't home. I'll get him yet! He's the nicest guy - a very good doctor. He always listens. I have had a few, and he's the best. I am very fortunate.
