I'm back on the Lexapro, 5 mg instead of 10. Hours after I took the first pill, all withdrawal symptoms disappeared. I just absolutely could not longer deal with those symptoms in my final two weeks of graduate school. I need to be feeling as good as I can so that I don't %#@&#! up anything. I see pdoc on the 21st, so we'll see what happens after that. The crying spells stopped, too... I figured they were a part of the withdrawals.

Kiya, the odd sensation throughout my body were the most prominent symptoms I dealt with in regards to Lexapro. i hope you feel better soon.

greaaaaaaaaaaaat. I just got put on Lexapro today -10mgs. Though she said this is the "safest" antidepressant to be on, reading all this makes me a little worried. Did I say a little??? She did say i could start of half if i wanted. I already have all those "withdrawal sides" so maybe they won't be as noticible? I already have headaches daily, dizziness, vertigo, lightheadedness, and feel odd sensations through my body. THis is the first AD i've ever taken (aside from 5HTP that is over the counter). She wants me to continue the 5HTP (100mg). =(

Lexapro was my first AD too... and my pdoc told me to start on 5 mg if I couldnt take the 10mg. The side effects weren't too pleasant... everything tasted like cardboard for 2-3 days, and I didn't want to eat for a week. The dizziness, headaches, nausea and other feelings I experienced as well... but they went away when I got used to them.

... glad you're back on them (((((((pink))))))))) ... I discovered that the withdrawl effects are brutal. (I'm still cold turkey... and I *hate* my mood swings!) But seeing my pdoc on Thursday, and he's going to see my point of view and either give me different pills or let me take the Lexapro again... not being on something is BAD for my concentration for classes.
