Its actually going to happen! I am going off my Zoloft, but I am a little thrown off by the docs instructions to wean off. She said to take my regular dose the next 3 days than stop all together. I am on 50mg and thats all ive ever been on, and I probably started taking it the first week of January. Does this sould like an okay reccomendation to get off the drug or should i do otherwise like split it in half and take for a week?

If I remember correctly, Zoloft caused me more problems when i stopped taking it even trying to take half a pill....now everybody is different but stopping cold turkey sounds like it might cause you some problems

BalishBun, first, congrats on getting the green light to come off of the Zoloft! Have you shared your concern about quitting so abruptedly with your doctor? What did she say? I think if you told her you would like to be cautious and wean more slowly "just in case", she wouldn't object to that, would she? Weaning more slowly can't be harmful, whereas quitting cold turkey might be (unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, etc.).

I talked to a nurse which relayed the message. Hopefully all goes well.
