whew this is wierd. been on lamictal 2 weeks(BP1). yesterday was my increase in dosage from 25 mg to 50 mg. no problems other than (no offence intended...) i am truely having a "blonde" day. and yesterday was the same. my husband is awfully amused with me. i havent seen him giggle this much in a while. but will this go away? i dont like this feeling. i just cant seem to get my head together.
any opinions? similar reactions?

Your symptoms seem to be listed but "rare" here (unless he's laughing at coordination problems which are "common," previous page):

I didn't have that with Lamictal, but a bit with Abilify ("foggy thinking" & memory problems) & a lot more with Topamax. Around here they call Topamax the "stupid" pill as in it makes you stupid. My husband calls me "Lucy" as in "I Love Lucy" because of my weird thinking patterns & ways I come to conclusions or problem-solve.--Suzy

That doesn't sound like a common side-effect. When I started taking it I noticed no difference - but everyone is different. You will want to call your doctor and see what he thinks.

Don't forget that most side-effects go away within a couple weeks of starting or upping a medication.

my niece takes lamictal for her seizures. i take it for mood stabilizing. we both have expreienced similiar side effects. we often stop midsentence and have a hard time finding the right words for very simple things. we mix up words. OFTEN, we find ourselves saying "... is that the right word?" because we are confused/unsure of a words definition. (not complex words either)
we both read a lot and try to not sound so "blonde" (lol). i've taken lamictal for over a year now. she's been on it for 4 years. we both take 200mgs a day.
