Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has went through the withdrawls from ADDERAL XR or similar? Somehow I ran out about 2 days ago. Have been taking 20mg for about 1 1/2 years daily. Now feel I am going off the deep end. Can not get my Prescription filled until about 72 more hours from right now.

I am not sure about 3 more days without. Was on Concerta 36mg for 2 years prior to ADDERAL XR. Seems like I am just not "with it" more and more as time goes by. Has anyone ever stopped all of the sudden after taking these med's for a long period of time? Is it Dangerous? I have never been through this in all 4 years Have been takeing this medication type and am worried.

Any input would be appreciated about this. I have all the rest of my medications. Seems all day I have acomplished nothing other than moving papers from place to place over and over and try with no success to put things together to make them the way there supposed to be it seems. only no achievement.

Thank You Krzy Kris

Many stimulants that are used for ADD and/or ADHD can cause a crashing effect on many, I know someone that as their meds wear off or he runs out, he can just curl in a ball and sleep for days, of course get up to eat and relieve himself, this also launches him into depression.
Due to him abusing his Ritalin, he is harming himself, triggering up and down cycling, but he is another story.
If you are feeling a change in mood while using your med, you should report it to your pdoc, it is important not to rollercoaster.
I wish you lots of luck with this, and always feel free to talk to us ADDERAL XR & Withdrawal?!!

Please take care,

Thank You DarkEyes,

I got the medicine on the 3rd and made it ok. Only now that I am back on it, the first two days I felt really focused. (3rd and 4th) only now back on I'm in my sight some manic.

I was awake for I think almost 3 Days. Yesterday went to see my Mom and fell asleep in her chair from 2PM till 9:30PM so dont think I am Manic only been up since yesterday at 9:30PM now is almost 6PM.

My caseworker today came to see me. Any way I just am in such nervous kind of state of movement inside of my body and am taking meds as prescribed.

Honestly I do believe I know the problem is I am severly constipated causing the meds not being able to leave out of me like they should and so I fear I am on toxic doses of everything from Lithium to Risperdal. I am taking laxatives in hopes to take care of this disturbed state of mind at present.

I hope soon the toxins built up shall release and I will be ok.

Thanks Chris

I've taken many "breaks" from being on Adderall XR. The good news is that it should go away within a week, maximum, and usually about 3 days (for me). The bad news is everytime I stop it, I basically sleep for a few days straight, only waking up when absolutely necessary or to eat and go back to bed. I feel really detatched from reality and frequently forget where I am going when driving. However, this is stuff I did before the medication...I just think it's somehow worse (or maybe just seems that way) after abruptly stopping it.
It'll go away. They say it's good to take "mini-breaks" from amphetamines because of the addiction/detox factor, but my shrink recommended no more than a week generally. Usually I'll just take 1 or 2 days off on a weekend every other month or so.
