My psychiatrist is still trying to find an antidepressant that will give me some energy. Next up is Pamelor (nortriptyline), one of the tricyclics.

Any experiences with this drug -- good, bad, or ugly?

havent tried any of the tricyclics, sorry.

edronax really helped me with energy. don't know that it's available in the US, though (crazymeds.us says it isn't). is it something you could look into?

also, apparently abilify has activating properties. didnt find it did much for me, but lots of ppl swear by it.

You could look on the drug list here for some specific drug feedback. I've never heard of that drug. I am taking wellbutrinXL and that has helped stimulate my activities. Keeps me sleeping less and gets me a little more active.

The drug is on the forum under the generic name. Here is the link http://forums.psychcentral.com/meds/nortriptyline.html scroll all the way to the bottom to get others opinions.

Hope this helps.

Love and Hugs,
Tara

I took it before for about seven years in the early 90's and it worked well for me with no real side effects going on it or coming off it. Other medications were tried, but did not have as good of an effect. Good Luck!!

Thanks for the replies folks! I just got the Rx filled and am going to give it a shot.

deliquesce, I am actually taking Abilify...indeed, I think it may have helped somewhat with stability, but not so much with energy.
