Do you have a hospital nearby? Often they have a list of Ts in the area. If it isn't on their webpage you might call and ask for their psych floor. The professionals working this area will likely have an insider perspective on who might be good in your area. Also, if you live in a town with a college or university. You might try calling their counseling center or Psychology department. Often the faculty will have private practices or will be part of the local mental health network.

Another way is to ask a trusted provider for some names. Such as asking a T for other Ts or a pdoc or GP for Ts. It's especially helpful when they know you a bit and so can recommend someone they think would be well-suited for you. Good luck.

I found mine on the psychology today website. After I had narrowed it down to a couple, I called and talked to them both on the phone, and decided that I felt most drawn to see the T that I've been with for 2 years now
