where is dreamseeker?

anybody seen her online or heard from her? i know things got a bit controversial on her one thread. i hope you're still around and doing okay, dream. we miss you.

I completely missed that and don't see any threads by her so don't know what happened. This is sad to hear.

If you search her name you will see her name has been changed to anonymous and some kind of number. There is a locked post about her T and a kiss that might have something to do with her leaving.

this is really sad, and shows that we really DO build a sort of community here, to be so affected by someone leaving. Very, very sad.

I hope, Dream, that you are reading and know how much you are loved and missed.

If you are reading, please know, we have ALL had posters respond to us in ways that arent sensitive, empathetic and even just plain mean. There is so much love and support here for you and for the journey you are on. We know you somewhat already and are here for you to continue your journey here with us.

As in life, it is good practice here to take what we need and leave the rest. Ignore the rest. Truly. You are loved and deeply cared about here.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by her leaving.
She said 'goodbye' in her final post:

I feel that her thread took a bad turn, with some posters trying to 'convince' her of their point of view. I understand both points of view. I think pointing out the red flag was a responsible point of view, but trying to force others to agree that it was a red flag and continue arguing was a little over the top.

But she did have the option of reporting the posters, ignoring the argumentative posts, or even asking the mods to delete the thread - instead of leaving the forum. That was her decision.

I know I have at times felt un-supported and even attacked Maybe that was my perception. Instead of leaving and deleting my account I have just chosen to stop posting. At times I still come here to read so that I can get the 'second-hand' support and feel like I am kind of staying-in-touch with those members I care about. This particular thread was interesting to me because I have experienced something similar and also felt it was a red flag. But I think pointing out the red flag was sufficient and trying to argue the point was alienating.

There are rules about posting, as Doc John posted in the Rules forum. I think sometimes people can forget about these rules because of strong feelings that are stirred up. Maybe the mods should have intervened sooner with a reminder of these rules.

JMO - feel free to ignore or (mods) delete this post.

dreamseeker, I hope you come back someday too. You have lots of support here.

One thing I do with people who seem consistently hostile or unsupportive towards me here (or toward others too), is that I block them. That way, I can't read any posts they make. Most frequently I have done this with people I perceive to be trolls (making posts with the deliberate goal of upsetting people and causing trouble). Or sometimes I don't like a person's insensitive/disrespectful or inflammatory way of communicating. To block or "ignore" someone, go to your profile page and click on "Edit Ignore List" under Settings & Options in the lefthand menu column.

Thank you everyone for your support of Dreamseeker. I know how hard it is to find a member has left us for whatever reason.

I think this is a good time to remind all of you that you do have options when something goes haywire in a thread. Some were already mentioned above.

• Using the ignore feature is probably one of the easiest and quickest things a member can do for self care.
• Whenever you see a post that you feel may be against guidelines, please report it by using the "report post" icon to the bottom left of each post. There is a spot for your comments as to why you are reporting the post and it will be sent to all team members.
• Whenever you have a disagreement with another member, please take it private through pm to try to resolve the issue. Arguing on the public forums is against guidelines. If, after discussing the issues privately, you cannot come to a solution, then please use the ignore function.
• Please remember that discussion of members issues (yours or theirs) should not be posted publicly.

The team understands that things can very easily become emotional and "feel" pretty yucky. Sometimes, stepping away from the computer for awhile or moving on to another thread, going and playing a game even, can help to calm and give yourselves a chance to think before acting emotionally. (something I personally struggle with every single day) The team is also here for you if you need someone to talk to or need to blow off a bit of steam.

Just a reminder to ya'll as well.....there are over a thousand posts made daily here. There is no way our team could possibly read every single post made every single day. We rely on you, our members to help us in knowing when there is a possible problem to look into. Don't be afraid to report a post....no one would know unless you tell them
