Silly question-what does Bt stand for? I just refer to my psychologists as psychologists, so I'm lost!

SWA, lol! Bt is just rainbow's reference to her last T, who was a "behavioral therapist." Now, she sees "kt" who she calls kt because she is a "kind therapist."

You may also hear about BlueMoon's "dt," which stands for "desk therapist," since this T sat behind a big desk! And also BlueMoon's current T, "Ftt," which stands for "flat tire therapist" since this therapist canceled their first appointment at the last minute due to a flat tire!

The impression I get from those statements, Rainbow, is that Bt could be rather condescending and arrogant with you. Not being aware that the statements hurt you makes it even more arrogant in my mind. I never ever want to upset you, but reading this stuff upsets me. I hate that you were treated this way. I know that you shared something special with Bt and that you hold that in your heart. She is human too. But still...

I am happy that you are seeing Kt now.

Jexa, Bt could stand for behavioral, but I use it for "Blunt" T. I thought of the names because Blue called her Ts dt and ftt. I don't like writing T instead of "myT" so I like the initials.

I didn't mean to hijack this thread but I guess it is so long anyway it doesn't matter by now, I hope.

Jexa and Brightheart: I don't know what to say. We paid her thousands of dollars; it sort of makes me sick. She was opinionated, but she let me talk as much as I wanted, and was there for me. I still miss her a lot, so it's hard to be objective. She is more skilled in couples counseling and conflict resolution than personality disorders, and yes, behavorial methods.

Oh sorry I thought she was behavioral T. My bad! That is always in my head when I see Bt.

It makes me sick to think of the money I wasted on my last T too. So much money, and time, and energy, and love, so much out of me. But then I remember that it was a learning experience anyway. I think I remember you saying starting with kt wasn't like starting over? It was like you could just hit the ground running with her, right? Imagine Bt as your "prep course" for the therapy kt is going to be giving you.

Strange, In my mondays session, I was upset and talking, and T was talking and then she suddenly said, "sorry, this isn't helpful". I felt for her in that moment, I realised that sometimes we are both at a loss for what is helpful and we stumble together and rise together. It scared me as well, that this figure I project all my triumphs into, was at at loss too, but her honesty was was shone through at the end, I think that helps too.
Thanks for this!

She may have wanted to give that impression...
