Great T's have little T's upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little T's have lesser T's, and so ad infinitum.
And the great T's themselves, in turn, have greater T's to go on;
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on.

I like to think that the "boss" is the T. himself/herself. The authority is mostly them-- with some input if/when needed.
Each person has their own truth and that is all that REALLY matters-- that you believe in your own truth.
a T. doesn't necessarily have to decide in your truth-- it's the support of one that is paramount-- isn't it?

YOU are the final authority....
I know that is scarey... but that seems to be how this psych stuff goes......
*shrugs*...
seems that way to me......

I hope you don't take this wrong pachy-- but it seems you are ever looking for that final authority... the one that "knows all" and understands all....

................ I don't think there is such a person........ (tiny voice, as I'm worried to say such a thing)

it's within ourselves to find our own truths and inner peace, with a few people to walk beside us in our journey.

I always appreciate your posts and thoughts

respectfully

I refer you to the TV sitcom, "Malcolm in the Middle":

Yes, no, maybe
I don't know
Can you repeat the question?

You're not the boss of me now
You're not the boss of me now
You're not the boss of me now, and you're not so big

Life is unfair, so I just stare at the stain on the wall where
The TV'd been, but ever since we've moved in it's been empty

Why I, why I'm in this room
There is no point explaining

You're not the boss of me now, and you're not so big
You're not the boss of me now

Life is a test, and I confess
I like this mess I've made so far
Grade on a curve and you'll observe
I'm right below the horizon

Yes, no, maybe, I don't know
Can you repeat the question?

I guess one doesn't have to see things as authority unless one likes to be an authority and then projects that out. I dont think my T Has a T, she goes with gut instinct, but sharing ideas with other T's isn't harmful, working together for the greater good isn't harmful, sharing experience to others isnt harmful, isn't that what we do here? Get my feet wet by doing what?

Melba, you recently said that you had decided that you had been wrong about some things in the past, and now you see things differently. So were you right then, or are you right now? Are you more right now than you used to be? If so, how do you know?

Just posing questions that, I think, are relevant. In my life, at least, I have been called wrong so much, and taught to question everything I think, that it has been very hard for me to contend with all that judgement. So it is very important to me to try to get things straight in my mind, to find out what it is that I really think. Is this "splashing others"? Do you think that people in general think carefully, in this world, and that they think so carefully and come to such accurate conclusions in general that we don't really need to try to work things out for ourselves?

Does the name George W. Bush mean anything to you? Or Tony Blair? Does confused thinking have consequences?

Pachy, other people have called you wrong, whether you were or not. No one else knows any more than you do, especially about you! Asking questions is "innocent," there's nothing of "You" in there; we want you in there helping us decide what is a good idea and what isn't with your own judgment, not just standing on the sidelines asking questions, jumping back so you don't get splashed by our discussion of possible answers.

That is not my experience, Perna. I have been able to be confused by someone calling "white" "black" in the past. Someone whom I took as an "authority" -- a therapist. It really is possible for some people to be almost totally "brainwashed" by others. I think there is plenty of evidence of that in the world today.

You are quite wrong there. There is plenty of me in there!

Yes, what questions you ask are what you want to learn about and understand but you never give of yourself and answer the questions too, but appear to sit back and learn from us and our struggling with the answer.

Yes, you've been confused by someone calling white, black, but that didn't make white, black, no matter that you were brainwashed and/or the person was an "expert". Your job, if you choose to accept it is to work on figuring out what you believe is white and what you believe is black and resisting brainwashing; something only you can do and only by someone trying to convince you of something else.

I "know" what I know! I own it. It may be black or white and/or you may think the opposite but good luck convincing me of it unless it is what I want/where I'm going. That's why it took me 18 years of therapy with the same therapist, over a 30 year period, instead of, say, 2 Doesn't matter, I was in there struggling the whole way, looking for my true north. Found it!

Yes, and so does a person and their north pole! What's your point? There are no "absolutes" other than you working to get closer to what is absolutely you

T's have T's -- wait a minute!?

patchy, Personally I think even if the right therapist came along that suited you, you wouldnt take it up, I get the feeling your a man with plenty of time on your hands that just hangs around here with no real interest in self development. Thats pretty sad when there are real people working on their real issues and would love to just play.

I don't really know! I suppose they have parasites of some kind. Probably not T's, though.

Your impression is wrong, if I may say so. I am doing self-development all the time. Part of it is interacting here. I'm sorry you don't see it. Really.

Whether what you say is true or not will only be seen in the course of time. Or not. I have to hope that my growing will be seen -- by some, in time.
