I was sitting around my house on a beautiful May day yesterday when something struck me.

OMG! I'm content. Happy and content. This incredible sense of gratitude and joy just descended on me.

All I can say to all those that are struggling in therapy is keep the faith.

Whatever scares you look right in the eye. Whatever bothers you talk about it. Be open to grace. Risk it all, time and time again.

Trust me, this feeling, right now, makes it all worth it. Every single tear, every single sleepless night, every single bit of rage and fury.

This freedom, this joy - it's been worth it.

Way to go!!! You have worked so hard. You are starting to see what life CAN be, even if just from time to time. But we are all only given each NOW. So don't try to latch onto the good emotion. Just enjoy it and allow it to be with you.

See, the secret you are learning is that once a person learns how to "sit" with emotions (we start by learning to sit with the bad ones), a skill is developed and we learn how to sit with ALL the emotions. That allows us the doorway to sit with those GOOD emotions as well - rather than being afraid of them or judging them.

Good job!!

That's so wonderful to hear! I'm really glad you are feeling so good. And you are absolutely right. To be able to feel content is absolutely worth the struggle. I hope you have many more content days!
Thanks for this!

If it can come into my life, it can come into anyone's and everyone's.
