Learned a little about mindfulness today , and although it sounds extremely hard , it also sounds like something i have never tried in the past, and something that i feel i can do ..... probably very slowly

I bought "Mindfulness for Dummies" because I couldn't get my head around it properly. It might help more if I actually read the book

Mindfullness is awesome. I actually took an 8 week program called mindfullness based cognitive therapy, that was run by a psychiatrist at my local hospital. It was meant for people who are in remission from depression to help prevent recurrance of depression. It was kind of intense as we had to meditate for a minimum of 45 min. a day, during the 8 weeks, but I got a lot out of the course. I still meditate, just not managing to do it daily at the moment. I use guided meditation tapes by Kabat-Zinn. I find it also really helps with my stress levels.

I have 2 books by Kabat-Zinn but I don't do as much as I should. My T tries to do meditation (just the pay attention to your breathing kind) at the beginning of each session, and tells me to do it every day. It does calm me down. I have to get back into a yoga class, too. That's part of mindfulness. It's good stuff! Good luck with it, my3sons.
