I will be having my second session of it after about 9 months since my first.
I had a kitchen accident that burned my face, and it brought back more memories of child abuse. So my T wants to try it again with me since the first time worked very well (changed my life). But I am still nervous about opening up those old wounds again. But I trust my T completely which I didn't when we first tried it. It will be interesting doing it again. Is anyone still doing EMDR?

Yes, I am. My t tries to incorporate it into therapy from time to time. It really triggers intense feelings, so we go slow. Yesterday I had to tell her, "Let's stop doing this for now." I was getting panicky feelings and didn't want to gu further. She respects that and we do other therapy then.
Good luck to you with EMDR. Just let your t know if it is too intense, you don't want the session to be up and leave with those intense feelings. (I have a hard time getting in touch with much feeling at all.) Let him/her know about your reservations, I'm sure they will respect that.
HUGS!

I am currently using EMDR. Even though it has been very intense for me I am starting to see the improvements.

It has changed my life and only with one session. It is almost like a miracle. Or maybe I can see it like that because it has been so long ago and have forgotten all the pain involved. By the way I love your name and picture! Is anyone still doing EMDR?

EMDR stands for EyeMovement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I am not very good at explaining it all but the official website would probably answer most of your questions. EMDR.com. I hope it is okay to post websites, if not , I am sorry, I didn't know.
It works very well for people who have gone through tramatice experiences like child abuse, rape , war stuff, . I was very skepitical of it, but now I believe it can really help a lot of people.
