How often do you meet with your Tdoc? What about your Pdoc?

Are you limited by your insurance company to a certain number of visits each year? If so, how many?

I am just curious...... I am allowed 30 visits total How often?, a year. But I think that if the Pdoc marks "medication mgt." the visit does not count towards my 30. Just curious what other insurance co. do?

Thanks.......

I don't see my T nor my MD under my "regular" insurance, but that regular insurance does cover similiarly to what you said: medical manangement appointments do not count against any psychotherapy appts. IMO your 30 visits is higher than most policies.... many only cover 15 imo...

Hopefully your having 30 is a sign of things to come: insurance companies need to pay out for what they get, if needed by the policy holder How often?

My visits to the Tdoc and Pdoc carry a much higher co-pay than a visit to a regular doc, which really makes me upset.

Why don't you use your "regular" ins for your T & Pdoc? Are you concerned about what information is revealed to your employer?

I recently had to get a new medication covered for purchase at a retail pharmacy (can't use a 90 day mail order due to weekly bloodwork needed). How often? Now the HR person along with our ins rep.......and God knows who else......know the med I am on.....and the conditions it is prescribed for. How often?........although that is not my diagnosis......

Oh well, so much for HIPPA!

No, I am covered with disability insurance, so I only use my regular health ins for non injury related things... and my T helps with my disability/injury. How often?

My state mental health insurance has a limit but my therapist is able to apply for more time when needed towards the end of the fiscal year.

My therapist is very flexible. At times I see here weekly and other times twice a month, Ive also seen a therapiston a once a month schedule and still other time no face to face sessions but making sure my therapists recieve my journals, art work or assignments. My appointment schedules usually pretty much depends on what I need.

I don't see a psychiatrist. My medical doctor (known as primary physician here) is capable of handling any of my medicinal needs be it physical or mental, and again how much I see him depends on what I need.

I see my Therapist once a week. As for co pay's I don't have one because I'm on medicaid and they pay for it all. I see my pdoc once a month or if a problem comes up I can see her more frequently. Again the medicaid pays for that. They only pay for 12 visits a year but they can apply for an extention if I happen to go over that.

3x a week............how long are your sessions? My therapist asks how often I would like to come.......after a particular rough session I say in a month.........and then in a couple of hours wish I could go back right away!

I have been in therapy off and on for about 5 yrs How often?.

When I am doing well, just a quick visit to the Pdoc for meds is all I WANT (at least I am med compliant now) How often?............ then the depression sets in again and darn I feel like I am back to square one.

I guess I just want to belief, even for a short while, that I don't have a mental illness.......and then it just comes crashing over me again!!!!

How can therapy EVER help????

mine are regular 50 minute "hours" sigh. Therapy can only help with consistency, expectation, and hard work... over time... for most... I think the studies show that regular medicine (that is working for you) OR regular psychotherapy over a 6 month period work equally well for many. sigh.

My insurance company allows 24 visits per calendar year to a T - so therefore, if and when I need to go I generally go 1 time every 2 weeks.... more in the beginning stages if the T deems it to be necessary for my safety and well being.
