I need to vent and this may sound *****y!!!
So I've been working myself up for my appointment with T tomorrow, done loads of work on myself to get to the stage i can go in there and work and be there and i called up today to check the appointment time and he ain't in today and they don't know if he'll be in tomorrow! The lady said he's had some extra time off!!! WTF! Thanks for letting me know. I would have had no idea and turned up if i wouldn't have been so forgetful. I feel so stupid for bothering to do this work if he can't even let me know ... i mean how long does it take to send a email or ask a colleague to send a letter! I'm so angry at him. Feel right let down and abandoned. I don't no what to do, i will see him again at some point for closure and there may be a very good reason but if they do not communicate with me what am i supposed to think? snowball thoughts! Driving me mad. So irritated.

I wonder if maybe the receptionists have got it slightly wrong and he will be in tomorrow after all. They said they didn't know if he'd be in tomorrow. What time should your appt be? Can you ring again in the morning to double check?
Thanks for this!

to be sure, was your appointment date correct? if so there is a good reason to feel as you do. it's certainly not professional imo. plus i know for me, this would cause a lack of trust with your T. i do hope there's a viable reason. if not i'd be looking real quick to find another T.

Oh man, I know you don't need this kind of uncertainty, getting yourself all psyched up for an appointment and then feeling let down

Try ringing through again in the morning to double check, perhaps the receptionist had it wrong -- or, perhaps he has a good reason for taking the extra time off, lke a family emergency? With the new year and everything maybe no one had got around to contacting you yet... He/they really should be more organised, but try to hold off on any ranting 'til you know what's happening and why, might be an innocent explanation. (Did that sound grown up and sensible? I'm trying! )

yeah but you are so smart for calling to verify your appointment. if I don't hear from a dr (not my T, but others) I always make it a point to call. esp after so many such errors when I was living with my mother, she just could not DEAL with this kind of mistake.

I hope they did. It is/was at 9.30am and i have to leave my house at 8.30am to get there and he doesn't start till 9 so i have no way of knowing I've got to decide weather to risk it or not.

First of all I'm sorry this is happening to you-I can feel the anger in your post-and hear that underneath that anger is intense hurt and pain...you were putting in work and preparing yourself and then to have him not notify you that you might not have the appointment you thought..I would be upset too! Can you call up there again and get a definite answer from them? I think until you know if you are going to have the appointment or not there wont' be any moving on from it...let us know what they say!?!

I can't speak to anyone who can help as its out of office hours now but i called the crisis line as this was sending me into crisis and they have never helped me more the bloke couldn't find out if the appointment was still on or not but calmed me down and read out another note on my file it said my T was going to be taking more of detailed history and finding out more about me (which was brought about when my boyfriend had to come to a session with me and i said even my boyfriend has no idea of just how much I've been through whoops but it was said in anger as they weren't helping me) which is quite nice because no one has even bothered (even professionals) to take the time to let me tell my story it's always just been about the hear and now. I'm glad i have got sleeping tablets otherwise i would not sleep not knowing weather or not i need to get up in the morning. It's weird nothing like this has really bothered me like it is. If my appointment is off tomorrow you can guarantee i'll be on hear I wish i could read my mental health folder it's huge but i'd love to see what they thought as no one really tells me. shocker.

Yep someone called me on the way in and cancelled my appointment and said he will be in touch over the next month to discuss another appointment, they didn't give me a reason. Lost so much trust now feel so alone.

Oh, that's awful. I was holding onto some hope that it would still be on this morning for you. I'm sorry you've been let down like this.
