I am out on medical leave for a bit - my T is helping me work through my shame around this. Any advice on how I can help myself?

You are feeling shame about being off work due to medical issues?
Thanks for this!

I don't have any, but Brene Brown? Wowsa! She sure does. I hope this helps you as much as it has me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, elliemay. I needed to see this. It is one thing for my T, a woman of faith, to tell me these things, but entirely another to hear a woman of science say the exact same thing.

This may change my life. Thank you for sharing!

When I explore shame, for me anyway, I always find regrets and guilt mix with it. It helps me light up the weight of the shame has on me by having some of the "shame weight" distributed to other emotions. Sound crazy, but it works for me.
