you can get clear plugs for piercings like eyebrows for work and such.

stopdog that is why i had to have them remove the one on my left wrist and move it to the right .i got it snagged on a seam on my screen door and almost pulled it out completely.it wasnt going to heal right so got it taken out and moved. truely it feels like a bee sting.

i'm off again to buy a bunch of heathy eating for the week.

My mom pierced my ears when i was little too...i also have an earing on the upper part of my left ear in the cartiledge. I did that to show the youngest it wasn't painful ( although that area is very painful ).... No urge for the belly or tounge or nipples...just the brow.... dont know why...Granite the wrist is cool.

no piercings here. I never really wanted them ... I concur with stopdog on the getting snagged thing. Or going through airport security and setting the beepers off and explaining it's the bellybutton ring or stud wherever it happens to be
What I want to do, that may not sound really radical, but trust me, would be to my H (and my church community) is dying my hair a totally different color - I've always wanted to see how I'd look with red hair!
Hmmm, and a tattoo on my behind .... (just for H, that said, kiss my a $ $ - ok, that's just my weird humor coming out)

I dyed my hair hot pink. Me, a 47 yr old (ex)accountant and member of a very conservative congregation. It did raise some eyebrows...but I love my pink hair.

I had my hair blond and red before. Nothing too different.

P.S fellow couch sitters-I apologize in advance for any drunk posting I may do. I had 2 drinks and have a nice head swim going. I'm sure 2 more will put me just where I need to be.

I started trying to be more healthy lately too. I got super healthy things at the supermarket. Was sticking to things like pita pockets with yummy salad fillings, low calorie porridge, and so on. So expensive! I went to the supermarket to get just a few extra things, and I thought it cost about a quarter of what some people spend in a week for food...and it was barely enough for a few lunches. It's sad that it's cheaper to be less healthy.

For healthy eating lunch items I will usually buy those little boxes of "Green Giant" veggies and consume a box of those with maybe a piece of 45 calorie wheat bread just to add a little to it. Those are cheap around where I live. Normally just 2 for 4 dollars. Sometimes they are on sale for $1.60. Dinner is always a more difficult option since I suck at cooking and baking.

I eat a lot of dried beans and whole grains I buy in bulk. That helps me keep food bills down. Fresh fruit and vegetables are added too, but for protein and such I usually add beans or lentils or tofu to a lot of things.

I am so excited that my farm subscription starts tomorrow. Every Wednesday I will get a bag full of veggies. Now I basically go vegetarian for the summer with the exception of a few steaks here and there.

I eat a lot of beans, chickpeas (I love chickpeas!), oatmeal, and I make my own whole wheat bread.

Granite and Nightlight - I don't know if you live in areas with farmer's markets and farm stands. Sometimes you can find fresh veggies for less there. At least that's how it is around here.

Lots of farmers markets and even a big Amish market around me and I find their prices high than the grocery store.

We do have farmers markets where I am, and I do like shopping there. It does save quite a bit on fresh fruit and vegies.

H came home at midnight last night and asked me if I wanted to get up at 4:30. I thought he was making a silly joke, but it turned out he was dead serious... he went outside to try and glimpse the Venus passage, which was supposed to be visible between approximately 4am and 7am here. Sadly, it was cloudy, so he got back inside at 5. I like astronomy and all, but not to the point where I'd get up at THAT time!! (Today is a holiday in Sweden - the Google logo tells you why - so we didn't have to get up early and go to work. Otherwise he wouldn't have bothered, either.)

google logo: 79th anniversary of the first drive in. Surely you Swedes don't holiday for that???

Re: healthy eating. I am Vegan, so big on veggies. I live in a low lying salty, sandy, beach community...so no really good farms. I do hit the organic market once a week...and YES very pricey.

That's VERY interesting. (that Google does that, I mean ) I use google.com but apparently even that is country specific. Gah, I don't like Google's big brotherishness.

Anyway, it's the National Day of Sweden - a made-up holiday which is not really celebrated (by anybody I know). I don't think there are any drive-ins in this country so we don't talk much about that particular anniversary

Ugh. I woke up thinking about Backup T. He was really cute last night. (Stopit Stopit Stopit!!). Twice I almost called him by the name of my old T. I'm just so thrilled he wants to work with me!! He's not scared of the borderline label!!

Getting ready to take my Mom to the neurologist. He has been running tests to see if she suffered a small stroke or if it is dementia that is causing her loss of some cognitive function.

Well, I think everybody knows my obsession du jour. Hopefully, boss will redirect me once he returns from lunch. We have to work on a grant application together. Part of it sees fun, part not, but hopefully will give me an intellectual reprieve for a while.
