I was in my house and the lamp was on and all of a sudden the light from the lamp looked exactly like the lamp in the therapists office and immediately i felt like i was in that office... like everything real melted away and i was there in the office. It disorientated me and i couldn't work out what was real, or where i was, home or therapy. It was a brief moment maybe 30secs to a minute, and this has never happened before, weirded me out. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, absolutely. It's usually sounds or smells that do it for me though. It's really disorienting.
Thanks for this!

Yes - not the exact same situation (of course) but suddenly feeling as if I'm in a completely different place I know really well. It can be quite upsetting.

I think it might be depersonalization or derealization. I know when it happens to me that's what my Pdoc says anyway.

I have this sometimes, that sorta unreality weirdness. Its so odd. But I have DID, and so that seems to be part of my stuff I deal with.
