Thought I'd kick this one off after it was noticed that we may go through cycles of hating / loving our T's - there is of course I love my T today thread - wonder which one will end up the longest?

Actually, you didn't put a "today" in the I love my T thread, so the choices are pure, undying, constant love or temporary, 24 hour hate.

I wonder, how much of the cycling is just normal human? While I can't say that I ever "hate" my wife, there is some ebb and flow in my feelings about how great she is. Sometimes she is a little bit great, sometimes she is a lot great, on occasion I think I could live without her. With friends, there are times of greater or lesser closeness.

So for me I wonder, is the love-hate cycling unique to T's, or do we cycle (to a greater or lesser extent, or the same) with our other relationships? For me, the answer to that question is that I think my T relationship of about 18 months is probably a little less cyclical than my other relationships. It is more of a constant positive regard than my other relationships, although in general I would say that I am pretty steady in all my r'ships. There is rarely any drama.

Oh soup! I love you!

And yeah -- I hate my T today. I usually don't, but he is managing to **** up in a big way. I may or may not get back here to vent about it. I still need to journal, and run, and get hyped up on caffeine, and mow the lawn.

Why don't we just do a poll?

I was just kidding Lilly. The problem with a poll is you only get to vote once. So we would not be able to see the cycles. I hate him. I love him. Nope, hate him; he's an ***. NO! He's AWESOME.

OK serious head on - I hate my T, because I just don't understand why he gets in my head all the time. I wish I could just forget him between sessions.

I hate my T because she makes me do things i dont want to. And she refuses to let me just give up and sit silently. She doesn't take my "im fines" and "i dont know's" she keeps pushing till she gets an answer. I try to convince her I dont have an ED...yeah she doesnt believe me and i still have to go to the assessment I hate that she can ALWAYS tell when something is wrong, i'm lying, or i'm not telling her something. I am way to easy to read

Oh why oh why can't she just cooperate for once

Wonder if your T gives you the same look mine gives me when I say "I am fine". What does fine mean anyway - to me it means good enough and in order to have made it to T's session, understood his questions and offered an answer, to me tells me I am good enough at that point - maybe I should start saying that instead "T I am good enough right now" - wonder what response that will invoke

I am wondering whether the times that we hate them are the times that they hit the nail on the head, or manage to wobble our otherwise controlled stance - maybe this is when some deep work is getting done?

i am sure she does! she always looks at me like "you know you are not fine" and then she tells me to stop saying fine because we all know i'm not hehehe.

Yes that is what it means to me also! it means at this moment i do not feel like ending it all, i am not self harming myself, i am not sobbing. I am "fine" i am just barely good enough. we should definitely tell your T's that! see what they say
Thanks for this!

I'm with you - I hate T2 for never being there for me, not having a goodbye session to give me closure, and not fighting to find a way to still see me..

Feelings, ick!

Yeah for maths - it is where I like to live too - there is no unravelable puzzle like there is with T - another reason to hate him - it just doesn't compute in my head.
