I love that show!!! Although she'd probably refer to her H as "Fritzie".

My accent isn't as strong as hers and I talk fast.

Apt...I realize what you're saying. I guess I could say my parents have a "generic American accent" without any local dialect.

I swunny, I'm fixin' to get to work also. I'd love to eat a mess of greens. What kind you cookin' stopdog? I'm partial to collards cooked with bacon grease and a hamhock. How 'bout some fried yardbird and cornbread (also fried)?

You guys are funny. Funny story about bacon grease: growing up, I thought that I love brussel spouts. My mama cooked them with bacon grease, just like daddy liked. As it turns out, I just like bacon grease.
Thanks for this!

I was grown before I realized a vegetable did not have to be simmered for hours in bacon grease and or a hamhock. My mama never met a vegetable that was not improved with bacon grease. How about fried corn? (cut off the cob and fried up in bacon grease and onion) - lawsy that's good.
I am partial to turnips greens and mustard greens, but I like all of them (and nowdays rarely indulge in the bacon grease/hamhock cooking style- but oh that pot likker - yum)
Thanks for this!

my weekly 15 minute check-in at the library... hardly enough time to do anything much/post anything much substantial! grrr. but do just want to see how everyone I know is doing .....
accidentally ran 1 hour and 45 minutes this morning ... got mixed up which road came before which road and ended up with extra miles. oh well, I needed to run that long/far eventually for my 1/2 marathon training eventually anyway .... running is helping me a lot these days .....
I doubt H turns PC back on anytime soon, so I may just end up drifting away from here (which he intends I am quite sure!) sooner or later. like I say, a few minutes at the library doesn't lend itself to being able to contribute as I'd wish I could ....
I'm going to start classes this fall anyway, I think, so life will be very busy and probably MUCH less computer time and much more study time, plus 3 kids in school, etc ....
so this is sort of like my long goodbye ....

One more funny story about growing up in the boonies: when we went to the grocery store, I was honest to goodness perplexed about why they would bother to sell eggs. Who buys eggs? EVERYONE I knew -- literally EVERYONE -- had chickens. I think I was eight before I met someone who didn't own chickens. I was in college before I met anyone who didn't save bacon grease to use on vegetables.
Thanks for this!

My mother had a container kept on the stove just for the bacon grease and I do too. And I rarely eat bacon (or meat in general), but the little cup with the bacon grease on it is sitting right there.

Certainly I should be. I have to leave for a meeting soon - so that will help me move on to do at least one thing today.
Thanks for this!

I'm learning the fine art of delegation. I have found a coworker willing to help me fold the 500 brochures I have developed and printed!

That'll teach her to tell me she doesn't have anything to do!

GAH! My T appointment got cancelled for today. T had a medical issue. I won't get to see her this week because she's booked up and I can't see her any earlier next week because I'll be out of town...so 2 weeks with no T. Good thing I am doing pretty well right now.

Granite-I am sorry that you miss your T. You can pm me if you want to get anything off your chest during your wait.

Chopin-sorry T got canceled. Hurray for driving a new truck.

Wiki the puppy is cute. Love the pic of u and H.

Sconnie-your menu today sounds awesome. I would still totally be starving after those meals.

Bacon grease on veggies-yum. Any kind of grease added to veggies makes them edible.

Hello lola,Stopdog,MKAC, Cant Explain andeveryone else. It's hard to follow the conversation while at work-so sorry if I forgot anyone.

Well the kids are napping and their grandma is stopping by soon. She's a nice lady but never shuts up and tells me private stuff about the family. I don't like to hear about my nanny family's private life cause it just makes me uncomfortable. Would rather just come, take care of the children like I am supposed to and then go home.

We are still waiting for a ruling from the union to see if they will fight for his job. I'm hoping we have an answer before the unemployment hearing Friday. This way if the union does decide to go to arbitration-we can use that for ammo.

I hope you hear back before the hearing because I think that would give you more leverage.

I sent T an email that said I hoped she felt better and I'd see her next week.

I love H's truck. Here's a pic of me in it today:

yeah opposite for me too. I thought I didn't like vegetables, but it was the gross cold olive oil slopped all over them after they'd been boiled half to death and left to cool. I would ask my mother to leave me some plain veg out to the side, but she would always "forget".

I have an opposite story about my mom, who grew up in the Bronx and never left the city until she married my dad. She seriously thought into her 20s that chocolate milk came from brown cows!!!
