We're going home today! It's been a LONG 2 weeks. I'll miss my grandchildren. Going shopping for my d. one more time today, not that it will help so much. She and her H have their hands full. At least they have a cleaning lady tomorrow. I NEVER had a cleaning lady though my Mom did.

when i was younger i went to an alternative school for behaviorally challenged. my English teacher was the only one who had any expectations that i work and learn .and also treated me like i could.i loved her .she was one of the few people who made a difference.she saw me as human and not my behaviors like everyone else and she had an expectation that i behaved like it.it made me feel human.

English was my favorite subject (art too, but that doesn't count) and I liked my teachers very much. Most of them. One made us memorize poems and recite them to the class. I didn't like that.

Especially when it wasn't really a "vacation." I wish I could go on a REAL vacation. We never did go to Banff. I don't foresee a vacation in the near future either.

English teachers were some of my favorite ones. My favorite teacher was my french teacher, i loved her. I was "in" love with my spanish teacher, as was the entire male student body ! Ha! And with that i plan on going fishing today, then lunch and a softball game

I absolutely loved my Creative Writing teacher in high school. In fact I'm still in touch with her 30+ years later, how cool is that? Last time I was back in my home town we got together for lunch and had so much fun reminiscing!

I bought 18 books this weekend

Over the weekend, I bought FIVE BAGS of books from my local library's annual fundraiser book sale. But that seemed like bragging to say at the time. I also like to go to the local used bookstores and find books. Or Goodwill. Goodwill actually has books and they are only $0.50 or $0.25 depending on the day.

Love library sales...and goodwill and thrift stores. I always feel like I am rescuing an item!

Music fest on Saturday.

Oh...my favorite high school teacher was Mr. Neigbor. He taught me Trig my sophmore year and calculus my senior year. He was a numbers guy, and he used to write out really difficult problems just for me each day. I loved it and him. He was really obese and drove a tiny little British car that always had the top down. One year the senior Science class was dissecting fetal pigs and the boys thew pig heads out the window and into his car. My brother and I went out and cleaned it up before Mr. N. found out. I never told him about it, I didn't want him to be hurt.

LC - get off the internet and into the fishing moment. Be mindful of the fishing, the water, enjoy being in nature and destroying little fish families by snatching their loved ones out of the water by their lips.
(okay kidding about and will remove the fish family part it if it is upsetting)(but I am dead flat serious about the other parts).

Okay, this is the second time you've made me literally lol at work. Fortunately, my boss is at a meeting off-site, so he couldn't ask me, "What's so funny?"

Hey everyone. At work, but my head hurts. It seems pain meds do not help much anymore. I hate being used to pain meds. I told Mom last night that I was afraid I was going to be like Dad. He's always in tremendous pain due to his neck. He's a truck driver, so I've always felt bad for him having to work in such pain.

Glad to see there are some English teacher lovers here.. I had a couple of really great ones who instilled in me a passion for Literature.. That is why I went into it. I have only taught a year of Middle school and High school english, before I left to stay at home with my kids. I am hoping this teaching aide gig will get my foot back in the door.

Lola.. are you seriously fishing and hanging out on the internet? I would be too.. of course, I am not sure anybody could get me to go fishing in the first place!

I had to uninstall Mozilla because it was freaking my computer out. Now I am using Chrome, but I didn't import my bookmarks because I didn't know what was corrupt. Just did a scan disk, malware check & virus scan, cleaned out the hd and wiped out all cookies and nuggets. Nothing seemed amiss. I wonder.

(oh, and I hate chrome...just so you know)
