Does anyone want to discuss the book Awakening Joy, by James Baraz, with me? I've been posting in the book club social group but hardly anyone posts there anymore. I'd like to post things I'm grateful for, as that's part of the book. It's really a great book with many practical ideas and personal stories. The author leads a workshop by the same name.

Or we could start a gratefulness thread right here, as it's therapy-related. My T has asked me what I'm grateful for, at times.

Today I'm grateful for:

friends
my husband
my granddaughter saying "I love you to me on the phone"
the beautiful blue sky and pretty leaves
being alive
feeling a little better about therapy
Hugs from:

Thanks for this!

Today I'm grateful for:

my friends
people's willingness to share what works for them
my therapist
me (this sounds self-absorbed, but usually I discount myself and would never think of being truly grateful for my own existence!)
Thanks for this!

Today I'm grateful for

Being so close to my sister
Having a wonderful therapist
The new friend that I've made
Even more grateful for the fact that I'm getting so much stronger that I actually have made a friend for the first time in years

Nice idea, rainbow, this will be good to go back to remind myself of good things or add to the list as I think of more.
Thanks for this!

Yes, it was my idea to have this be an ongoing thread that we can add to as much as we want. I'm also looking for a "joy buddy" to read and discuss the book with me. I'm glad you think the gratefulness part is a good idea.

I'm posting in my thread because it's good for me to write down what I'm grateful for. I hope others will contribute sometimes too.

Today I'm grateful for

My husband, for insisting we go out tonight
My former T, who I saw, and we made small talk
My allergy medicine
My friend who called tonight
