Spent most of the day at hospital, I am now being seen by the crisis team at home, I self harmed bad last night and constantly getting suicidal thoughts.
I won't be able to see my therapist while I am seeing the crisis team though.
I also have an appointment with my Pdoc next wednesday as they seem to think that my medication needs changing.

Thank you everyone.

I saw someone completely different yesterday, He didn't say why I wasn't going to be kept there and yet today I had a visit from the crisis team and he was going on about assessing me. Crisis team come out to check on you and give you advice on how to cope with your feelings, In honesty I don't find them helpful at all and it is why I refused their help last week, They say stuff like "Make a cup of tea or go the shops" I do these things anyway.

I can't see my T whilst I am under the crisis the team as it is a pathetic rule they have, I am in crisis so it could make the situation worse for myself.
No idea how long I will be under them for, I know last time it was 2 weeks.

Tink, I am glad you are safe and maybe it is the meds that are causing more frequent self harming episodes. We are all here for you. you will get through this as this too shall pass.

Would it not have been an option to stay inpatient a bit longer?

Hi there,

Yeah they do come out to your house but I didn't find them any help, I see that you're from the USA though so it could be different, I am in the UK.

From my experience/what I've been told in the USA if you go to the hospital and tell them you want to SI etc... they will have you as an inpatient strait away. However if you aren't doing SI they most likely will turn you away. My T said there was no guarantee that the ER would take me in however I'm glad I didn't because I didn't want to be committed with others more crazy than I. Someone told me the local hospital would have committed me for 5 days no questions asked if I told them I had thoughts of SI.

Currently I'm in a partial hospitalization program (go there during the day and go home mid afternoon. Next week I step down to intensive outpatient.

I have heard of some people in the US getting home treatment (for example they can't leave there house etc...) but it's rare for professionals to do this at least where I live.

Tink can you start an Intensive out-patient therapy when you get out? I know here you go 8-2 to group and individual therapy . Then you see a pdoc 1x a week or more if needed. I hope you feel better soon.

I believe they would treat that the same as you said you were going to hurt yourself. Depends on the specifics of hurting just anyone else vs. a specific person. They may put you in 'high risk' category. Not sure what that means exactly but there are some people who had inpatient experiences where they saw other people there who where literally in restraints because they would hurt anyone near them.
