I started writing what is below in response to one of the threads, and then decided to start a new thread because
1. I don't know how welcome a suggestion would be and
2. It might be useful for others besides the thread I was in and
3. Maybe other people have other ideas that would be useful to have in one thread. I was originally going to call it a ROSEN thread, but decided to expand it.

Here is what I had written:

I wonder if you have ever tried a Rosen Session and if that would be helpful. Rosen isn't therapy, but I have seen it be very therapeutic - for myself and others. It uncovered issues for me from my body that I hadn't known to articulate and I suspect would have taken many more hours of therapy before I got there, and doesn't require a lot of talking. Sometimes words. Sometimes pictures. I was AMAZED sometimes at what would come up. I didn't even believe it the first time. I'm totally not a cosmic kind of person (or at least wasn't).
Sometimes the ROSEN session was all I needed, sometimes I took what I learned to my therapy session.
It's can be very gentle, and you are allowed to go at your own pace. The practitioner helps you listen to your own body to reveal where the tension is.

Alternatives to talk therapy are very important and it has its own forum here: http://forums.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=122 Some here combine body work with traditional therapy and art, music and other therapies but mostly, this particular forum is about talk therapy.

Hi Sra,
Thanks for posting this! I think you told me about rosin in one of my threads, and I've yet to look it up. I will today.
Though certainly talking is important, I've found that the creative arts combined with body psychotherapy that is open to the use of touch, have been very helpful for me. It allows me to relax in ways, and gets me to see things from other angles.
I would recommend voice movement therapy, music therapy, art a dance and drama therapy to anyone.
Perna I wasn't aware there was a separate forum for that.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
