That was very brave. In your place, I would have kept on Prozac until the rest of my life was more settled.

Luckily, we have an opportunity to post responses so that things can be clarified and taken further. I did post saying that I believed it was taken out of context and provided some clarification.

When my T is adamant about something though, rarely does he waiver from that position. He told me in my last session something along the lines of - that with a waiting list a mile long and no other motivation other than seeing people get healthy, he's comfortable with standing firm on his position.

To me, though, the fallback of "I'm only doing it because I care and want you to be healthy" is yet another way of not taking ownership for when you're totally off the mark.

Yep, you got it, CE!

And I'm sure it's the truth. But IMO, that's not a very helpful message to a client - especially one in crisis.

One could perceive that statement as a threat of termination - or that T doesn't want to deal with someone who struggles with resistance - or that they need to do whatever he says or else....and instead of looking at his statement more closely, he'd say "You feel that way, you own it, let's explore why you heard it that way". Well, what part can you own, T?

T seems to have very creative deflection skills.

SD...you're right. The Frau T I saw said that. (are you SURE you're a lawyer?). She said just notice and say to myself, there she goes again. And mostly I try to, but then I come on here and rant. lol. But I don't rant at her. I am trying to absorb my MIL's attitude though.

Girlfriend...I love you...and I mean this in as an encouraging, loving friend who cares for you: Get off your *** and find a new T. Jezus Lola...you need a t right now...and if the last idiot is gone, good riddance. Get a freaking new one. Whether it's a skype t or whatnot I don't care.

And seriously girlie, eat some freaking breakfast. And drink some chia juice.

OK. Who's next?

Thank you. I wouldn't send it until tomorrow. I really doubt I would get up the nerve regardless.

I love peregrines. We don't have many here, but down south there were heaps as well as wedge-tailed eagles, which are my favourite bird.

What I need is a big-boot-kicking-my-butt smiley just to stop me procrastinating. I need to go for a walk or ride my bike or pat the psycho-puppy next door, but can't seem to find the energy.

"My job is to provide a place safe to feel..." that's what my T said. Why can't feel anything when I'm there but come home and beat my head on the carpet. I go all Spock when I'm there and all Neelix when I get home.

Evening couch. I had a pretty good day. Observing E with C today went well. I got to see more of C's home programs and actually think I would be comfortable trying some of them when I start "watching" him.

Lola, I am sorry you are in a rough spot. I hope you are able to get a new T soon who can help you through this tough time.

Granite, I love the falcon baby pictures. They are so cute.

Well, I need to be up at 6:30 tomorrow morning because I have the 4th day (of 6) of an inservice to earn points towards certificate renewal for my teaching certificate. Want to keep it current in case any teaching jobs open up for next year. Thus, I should probably go to bed soon.

I hope everyone who had a bad day today has a better day tomorrow.

Grrrrr...my mom suggested this evening that I am likely going to have a hard time finding a job because I have "been in therapy"...and am thus unstable. WTF!?! Just because I am in T attempting to work on my issues I am unemployable....this from the woman who hides the fact that she is on major psych meds, her hospitalizations, her substance abuse history, her SUI attempts and so much more. So since she doesn't see a therapist she is okay and I am not.

Please know that I am not saying anything derogatory about anyone else and would never judge anyone who has any of the issues that I mentioned, it's the hypocrisy of it all that amazes me.
