Learned Helplessness is where you develop a cognitive distortion that no matter what you try, you will fail, based on multiple prior experiences of your failing. Emotional maturity has to do with having courage to forgive and allow for some emotional injuries when either you or someone else is having a hard time, and to not automatically become distressed about them or yourself the next time. |

A great deal i should think. They are opposite poles. I'm no expert but emotional maturity would be knowing what you want, how to get it and asking for it straight up. Learned helplessness is what I struggle with i'm pretty sure. maybe someone else can clear it up.

5 hours to T. I ripped up some of my drawings as I felt ashamed of them. They looked like a small child had drawn them. I bet those are the ones he wants to see.

If you have high standards for how well you should be able to visually represent them, that's a good thing... but having standards doesn't mean you should feel any shame about not meeting those. ![]() And yes, I'm sure those ARE the ones he would want to see. |

WOW..I miss chopped and they had chia seeds. That sux! I could have totally aced that one! Wiki-tini's for all the judges, they'd have to vote for me!
So, the homeless people ate well, and I had interesting conversation about love with a weird dude. Good deed for this week CHECK. That should make up for the awful thoughts I had about a person over the weekend. heh heh heh. There's a method to my madness. But honestly? Chest pain again. Good grief. I am sure if it was my heart I'd be dead by now, so it's obviously panic. Damitalltohell. I hate when my body DOESN'T LINE UP! Grrrrr.

His mom asked me the other day if I would be interested in doing a few mornings a week (before school and then taking him to school) once school gets back in. She supposed to let me know once she finds out who else wants to do it. |

Squirrel - if you did the work with the kid - could you stop doing the bus thing with the awful driver? Would the money work out? It would be great if you could avoid the horrible bus driver.

Positively freaking out about T. I'm taping my drawings back together minus the words. AND I've run out of regular cigarettes and can't smoke the other kind as T goes a bit soft on me when I do that.

Wiki I bet the judges would have been thrilled to have you on. No one thought to make them a cocktail...shocking isn't it?

Got to hang out my washing. Don't you all go and have an orgy while I'm away. I don't want to find 20 pages on the new couch that Murray has so kindly provided.

I eat a couple of tablespoons of chia seeds a day. Right now I use them in my daily kale/banana matcha smoothie.

WHA? chia seeds and no cocktails? Who'd a thunk? rofl.
Squirrel, that would be cool if you could deal with one kid instead of the whole bus driver from hell thing.

Call me a purist. I prefer my scotch or gin to be chia seed free.

kale banana? there's a combo I've never tried. Sounds yummy.
I dump chia and ground flax on every breakfast. I also always soak chia in juice to have it on hand for my custom martinis. Yum.

Chia seed, plain greek yogurt, and chip/dip spice from Penzey's. YUM.
Note - not a drink, just my current fave snack. ![]() |

I don't see the point in vodka and I like rum a little but it gets too sweet pretty fast.

Good thing you cleared it up - I thought you were making a savory lassi perhaps.

Is it all about the 1000th post now, and not the closing?
