I'm sorry Granite.... I missed the conversation last night after I signed off but I hope you didn't take it that I didn't want to talk to you. I was just very tired and very cranky and a little upset at someone's response on another thread and felt it was best to just sign off of PC and go to bed.

Happy happy?
Is that another phrase for mushroom induced design? Those couches may give me nightmares.

Morning couch...err, maybe afternoon (it is almost 12 noon my time).
Lola, I love the cow couch...it looks so neat. Reminds me of Chick-Fil-A. There's a billboard on I-95 in my city that has 3-D cows hanging a sign that says "Eat More Chicken". Some of the letters are backwards, to make it look like the cows wrote it. Cows ate cute. ![]() Granite, I missed all the talk last night as I logged off and went to bed after I posted on the last couch. I hope you are doing better today and don't think about whatever went on last night. BPA, thanks for starting a new couch. I logged off before I got all the encouragement on the old couch to start one. I didn't see it until this morning (a little it ago). Wiki, have fun at the wildlife center and swimming. Hank, hi...I've missed seeing your posts. To anyone I forgot...I hope things are going well for you. I have to leave for the senior place in 30 minutes. The will be gone until tonight. I'm sure I can log onto PC a couple times (when I am not cookign for or feeding K) on my phone, so I won't miss what is going on. ![]() I hope everyone has a good rest of the day. |

Retail therapy is fun!! Got all of d's school supplies.. Gonna go finish up clothes shopping for her when we are done eating lunch. If I stop and think too much I start crying.. True sign I am depressed I never cry. Well, unless therapy I'd working and my emotions are no longer stick inside.

Hello, couch peeps!
I am mindful, SD, of how you were able to stress your reaction without using exclamation points by using your words. Super ack. Woah. I got an emergency call last night at midnight just as I was trying to wind down for bed. Got in at around 4 AM. I need to focus on finishing up my daughter's packing and then head down to spend the day with her. She leaves for Disney tomorrow. Sniff, sniff.

Healed ...I went through a period of crying and thought I was spiralling down to some deep depression I 've never been in and my T said that I was just feeling all the feelings of the past and that was one of the down sides of therapy working...
xT used to say therapy was a lot like surgery... after surgery you are technically more healthy because they "fixed" whatever was wrong like taking out an infected appendix but for a time you FEEL worse... Maybe you can allot yourself 1 hour alone to cry and then have something planned that will force you to have to step out of your feelings and go do something... I'm sorry its a rough time right now... ETA: guess its a good thing that xT's voice is in my head... I think this whole post may have been word for word what he said to me... |

MUE does your daughter have a tablet or laptop or anything she can take with her so that you two can email during the trip? It would be nice for both of you to have some communication.

My daughter only has an ipod, but she is able to use my sister's or my niece's phone when she's there to text me or call me. And, of course, I plan on calling her every day to touch base.
I keep saying to myself that I am going to think positive and not worry.....but my emotions are running rampant about it. Ack.

MUE...not sure of your D's ipod but my son can email me from his ipod if he's at a place that has wireless.
I would definitely imagine her having a great time on the rides and at shows... she will have lots of fun and she will have lots of stuff to tell you about. ETA: but from a mother perspective I get it and how hard it is. |

this other thread on PC has brought up all the old feelings that I had about how xT dealt with some issues and so now I desperately want to talk to him about it. I know I could call him at anytime to make an appt but would it really solve anything.?
Will he say anything differently? Will I feel anything differently or will it just be more of the same frustration. Is how I remember things what he really said? Is what I heard him say what he meant when he said it? Would he even remember? I wish I could just let it go and not care what he said Last edited by Anonymous100300; Aug 07, 2013 at 12:19 PM. RTS, it's hard when old, unresolved feelings are stirred up. You're in a different place now than you were then, so maybe another conversation about it with xT would provide you with some new awareness and insight.

I started to feel really hopeful about this interpreting job. I've worked every day this week so far AND am scheduled to work tomorrow and Friday - most of the assignments are only 2-3 hours, but still....more than what I was getting before. And, I'm already scheduled to work 3 days next week.
Then, it dawned on me that it's probably because a lot of interpreters are on vacation at the moment - so I'm being called on more often. It's ok, though. I'll take it!

MUE...don't sell yourself short... since they see and have acknowledged what a good job you are doing maybe they do choose to call you first before other interpretors.

Thanks, RTS. I would try to think that way - but a lot of the confirmations I've received indicate that I am subbing for someone else who couldn't be there. It kinda confirms my thought process. It's ok, though. Soon, school will be starting and the educational interpreters will be going back to work - so it will hopefully free up some opportunities for me, especially since I have established that I am reliable and provide quality services.
