Wait - when I had a cold, my dad used to put vaporub on my chest and then wrap my chest in his very scratchy red plaid wool scarf. I used to wonder if the scarf then smelled of menthol when he wore it.

He usually wears pants and shoes like that: http://img02.taobaocdn.com/bao/uploa...FjX_113746.jpg
And nice simple shirts. And his glasses. ![]() I've never seen him wearing a tie, or a suit. I'm good with that, I like it casual.

I usually notice what T wears because she's thin and I'm jealous (though I wish she weren't as thin as she is because I worry about her). I also notice because she dresses so much differently from me, but I notice most women's clothes for that reason.
I dress modestly (nothing low cut or above my knees), so I've had to get used to seeing what I call revealing clothes. These are NORMAL for society; I'm not criticizing anyone but I don't understand why women aren't embarrassed. I think my T probably dresses more modestly than most women, in fact. If she wears a thin blouse, she wears something over it, and in winter she wears scarves. She usually wears black pants or jeans. Occasionally, but not often she wears a skirt and I always notice that because I tease her and say she looks like me! ![]() |

I don't notice what Mr T wears. Although once I remarked he was dressed as a James Bond villain (1970s style).
I preferred Madame T in a skirt rather than panrs.

CBT T is always pretty crisp, maybe his wife picks out his shirts for him because the colors are perfect for his hair/eyes/skin tone.
Some of his ties are interesting--I think he sometimes works with kids and it is for their benefit maybe? |

I am only affected by my T clothes when he has the top 2 buttons of his shirt undone, and then my mind goes wandering in inappropriate places. Mind you I live in the tropics so this a frequent occurrence.

LOL ties are are a strange piece of apparel. They just seem like fabric arrows pointing in a direction I'm trying to keep my mind off of.

My T owns beige socks. I repeat: BEIGE SOCKS.
I think the way he dresses does affect me, in a positive way. It's not too smart (suits or ties would make me uncomfortable) but it's not too casual or scruffy either. He tends to wear jeans or what I suppose you'd call slacks, I'm not sure? Often with a sweater or a checked shirt. He does dress quite nicely, he occasionally looks really dapper (like the day he was all in black with a coloured scarf, it was very metrosexual) but it's mostly kind of... calming. Lots of blue. I've just realised I have NO IDEA what interim-T (a female I've seen once) was wearing. I always thought I'd notice that with a female T but nope. I couldn't tell you what she had on, if she wore make-up, if her nails were painted, anything. I just didn't notice. Weird. I can tell you so much about my usual T, right down to the make of his watch. |

I'm in the UK where pants = underwear so the mental picture I initially got was probably not what actually happened!!

hee hee! pants=underwear for me too...
I have just realised how much I avoid looking at my T. I have no idea what he wears. I couldn't describe him, apart from maybe my age...and male...he might have a beard. I am normally a bit more observant than that about people. ![]() ![]() |

My T dresses like she shops at Eileen Fisher. (In my area, I swear, they must pass out Eileen Fisher catalogs in T school!). She wears long skirts with leggings under them, loose sweaters or cardigans, scarves, and big chunky shoes like clogs, platforms, or boots. She doesn't wear make-up and she wears her hair down or in a ponytail. She looks modest and professional, but not particularly put together or coordinated. She has one red sweater that I wish would have an accident with her dryer-- but, for the most part, she just looks and dresses average. I do notice her clothes (mostly because they are so different from mine) but I don't think they have much of an effect on me or on my therapy. As long as she's wearing (enough) clothing, I don't much care what she wears. It stands out when she wears sleeveless shirts because she has uncommonly buff arms-- she looks like she could kill someone with those guns! We also hug at the end of sessions, and I notice the difference between a fuzz sweater hug and a skin-to-skin hug. I prefer the fuzzy sweater hug because it feels more nurturing/protective.

She dresses very professionally and nicely, but not so over-the-top that I feel bad about being around her or my own clothing (but then again, I do try to dress a little nicer on my appointment days). Skirts, pants, shirts. I am attracted to her.. but only once was I extremely affected by what she wore. It was a blue and white striped button up and a black skirt that did it. I think I was blushing and avoiding eye contact more so than usual the entire session.
Otherwise, I'm greatly comforted by neutral or tan colours. |
