Is anyone who celebrates Halloween going to dress up that day? or even the weekend?

I usually see my therapist Thursdays but I saw her earlier this week because of conflicting schedules,so she won't see me in my costume.

I have ED support group on Thursday so was thinking of wearing my costume all day,(work is letting us dress up in our costumes)just don't want to be the odd one out once I leave.

Is anyone else wearing their costume?Do you all think it's too childish and silly?

I wonder if it's a cry for attention for people to notice me? Because of my abandonment issues...what do you all think?

Btw...I'm going to be little red riding hood

Any input is welcomed

I don't dress up for Halloween, I hate the holiday. But I see several other people that do it - adults and kids. I have to think it'd be distracting for T to sit across from a bumblebee or kitty or transformer for an hour Though it makes me grin to think about it.

I LOVE halloween, and considered dressing in costume for the whole day. We happen to have couple's therapy that day, so we may again decide to dress up (also, it's really cold in that office, so the costume would likely be warmer as it's long sleeves and long pants). We had decided against it, but it IS my favorite holiday, so I may just revert to childhood and enjoy the day in costume.

One Halloween, I saw another client (older teen) and her mom come into the office in full costume. I was embarrassed for the both of them. The mom was obviously doing it for the show of it all, wouldn't stop talking about it...really uncomfortable for everyone else that was there.

Lolz I might have to dress up as your t, that sounds hilarious! My gf and I were walking past a resale shop on our way to the movies last week and I was like, hey why are my regular outfits being displayed as Halloween costumes??!

I'll be somewhat dressed up - I'm a teacher and I teach grade 4.... so I'll dress up for the kids. I'm going as Little Red Riding Hood this year - I've got a long red coat that I'll be wearing over a red dress. Will also having on a red hat, and have a basket with a wolf that I'll carry around. I'm sure the kids will get it.

However, it means that I'll be going to see my T in a dress. hahaha. With all the snow on the ground!

Just emailed my T about tomorrow's appointment time. She replied back and also added to feel free to dress up - meaning to wear a costume.
Thanks for this!

I have therapy tomorrow, so I will be interested to see what will happen. I won't be dressing up, and I know my T won't. But it would be interesting to see if she wears orange or something. Everyone who is dressing up, I would love to hear what your T says!

I'm going to T after trick r treating with my family which I will be dressed up for but I intend to remove the costume pieces... But my hair will likely be styled differently. I won't have time to change that.

Dressing up for therapy sounds like fun!

I've seen "Freudian Slips" (too skimpy)
but I wonder what another therapy-relavent costume would be funny? (dressing up as your T--love it!!)

Thank everyone for all the post,it's fun to read them and it would be fun to dress up as my T but then I'd basically be dressing up normal like myself for the most part. If anyone else dresses up let us know what you're going to be.

I decided I'm going to dress up,even if I'm not seeing my T today, maybe I'll send her a picture and hopefully at least one of the other girls in my support group are dressed up today.

I'm going trick or treating before my support group so I'm wearing my costume. I'm wearing a corset attached dress with ruffles at the bottom,a little apron attached with the wolf on it and a red coat with white thigh high and red shoes.

I just love halloween!!!

I had my appointment today and both T and I were wearing all black. I wore my grey skull sweater and she wore golden skull earrings.

Happy Halloween!
