(((((((((((((((((((((LOLA))))))))))))))))))))))))

I can only handle a bit of XMAS music in drips and drabs. D has it playing constantly. When I do start listening to it (Dec 21 - 25) it has to be the old stuff, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennet, Gene Autry, Perry Como, and my total fav, Eartha Kit. ETC.

I love Christmas music. My favorite is Dominic the Donkey and I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. I don't however listen to the music on Christmas Day. I only listen to it up to Christmas Eve.

Evening couch.

The kids weren't "too bad" today, though they were a little out there. Right before semester exams they get like that because they are ready for winter break.

I had to report kids skipping today. At lunch I was going out to my car to put my lunch box away and saw 5 or 6 kids standing near the bike racks. I asked them what they were doing and they said they thought they didn't lock their bikes up and were "double checking". I didn't believe them, but pretended like I did. I walk away, watching them out of the corner of my eye. They darted for the gate and went running off-campus. Idiots! I went back inside, found the school resource officer and told him I saw kids leave campus. He went after them and found them. Haha! The little "devils" were caught. How stupid do you have to be to go running away while a staff member is out there? Middle school mentality.

I love the oldies (classics) too... I'll be home for Christmas bing Crosby is my all time favorite as I always have envisioned how it would be to really want to be home to a loving family , tree trimming, smell of pie, snow on the ground Martha Stewart nuclear family... Normal stuff.

I like to pretend that my perfect family exists and misses me as I can't make it home but I can dream about it!

I like classical music like the xmas oratorio and such. Some normal carols for about an hour, the dr. Demento xmas album played once or twice, and that is it.

1. It's not beaches, it's me.

2. A shorter list would be what is right with beaches

3. If you don't know I can't tell you.

4. I have never cheered more for a movie character to hurry up and die than I did in beaches. And she just wouldn't.

5. I hate everything about the song You are the wind beneath my wings.

(I am kidding about #3)

Well healed, prepare to cry.... SD, based on the crying, I can see why you dislike it. For me it was a lifelong friendship and I always wanted one of those.

Sorry I have been absent. Catch up on all the threads every day, just haven't felt able to post.
I am sorry that things have been so rough for so many here.

My one experience of jury duty was interesting. Initially I had been terrified due to my anxiety issues, but I managed. When they started questioning the jurors, they said that they had an "embarrassment of jurors", which I thought was a fun way of saying that there were plenty of extras. So they asked if anyone had any decent reason to ask to be excused. I raised my hand along with a number of other people. They never even asked our reason. Weird. My reason was pretty good though- the trial I was being considered for was a lawsuit against the practice my gynecologist belongs to....so not appropriate for me to be on that jury.

Thanks ((CC))

Things are okay. I started antidepressants again a while ago and I hate to admit that they helped. I sooooo wanted to not need meds anymore and to not be struggling with depression still. Frustrating.

I am a bit apprehensive as I am starting group T this week. So nervous. In some ways I am looking forward to it as I think it will be good for me and I think it will be very interesting. I am just afraid that I wont be able to be participate and that I don't belong. Also worried that it will be hard because my T is one of the group T's and I am afraid I wont be able to handle seeing him interact with everyone. Afraid I will see how much more he likes everyone else....pathetic, I know. I suppose that will be a good experience for me as well to handle my insecurities.

Murray we are here and I'm sure group T will have its growing pains but I hope it ends up being beneficial. Keep us posted and meds are nothing to be worried about, they can be for now and not forever. I tried to find a group T here but they are few and far between apparently.
RTS - beaches was great dont listen to SD she doesn't do emotions remember.

I cried so hard at the end of Beaches. I used to not do emotions until I got to therapy. Darn it!

I've never seen Beaches.

The other day I went to see the movie 12 Years a Slave. It was a very good movie but one of the most painful movies for me to sit through ever. The horror and brutality were so hard to watch...and knowing it was true made it so much worse.

My T actually started this group because there really aren't any in the area and he felt there was a need for a women's support group. I'm going to hope for the best. As T and I discussed, even a year ago I never would have been able to consider a group as I was too anxious. So just deciding to be in the group is a sign of progress.

eeekkkk!!! Yeah, some people do feel like they have the right to do that. Not cool. Once in a great while I will split a dessert with a friend, but that is something that we agree upon beforehand and I know her very well. Don't know what I would do if someone just stuck their spoon into my food.
