I have realised I need to slow down on the house hunting front. Running around in tropical heat and lithium don't really go together. I'm feeling a bit ill. I'm staying most of today and drinnking plenty of water.

So, in T on Tuesday, my T and I talked about why I looked for "psychological" tests to take online. I said mainly because I was bored. She questioned..."so you took them for fun?" I said that was basically the reason. She told me that she found that odd because when in her experience, whenever she pulled out a "test" or even mentioned one to someone, they tried to avoid it like the plague. I told her that I guess I was "weird". She asked what sort of tests I found online and was a little "upset" to hear that the real tests were available online, I printed them out and showed them t her and she said they were the actual test material. She said it "ruins" the validity of the test, since people have the chance to "preview" it beforehand, so they can "practice" their responses instead of it being completely "first thought/reactiona". I understand where she is coming from.

She asked if I had ever heard of a few other tests, I said no. She said she would bring them in next time and we could look over some of the cards (or questions) on some of them "just for fun" and discuss what that might mean. She said if she could find her TAT cards, she would bring them in. I just googled TAT and found the images, most of them look rather old and outdated, but maybe that is the point. Be interesting to see what T thinks about what I think about some of the pictures.

Am I weird for taking "tests" out of boredom?
Thanks for this!

Well, it is almost 10pm here. I have to be up at 6am tomorrow, to be at C's by 7 (to get his ready for school and onto the school bus). So, I'd better head to bed.

I hope everyone has a good night. I'll pop in tomorrow when I get the chance.

Night couch.

I like tests too. In the olden days, before all the trees were cut down to make grande coffee cups and liners, Cosmopolitan and other magazines used to have the best psychological tests.

No, but I would have called it curiosity, not boredom.

W and the couch are standing by me, but Mr T is on holiday and no one else seems to be interested in my therapeutic journey.

W says they have their own problems.

Good morning.. First two hour delay for school this school year. Thanks to lake effect snow, still holding out for a snow day! I have a busy day, school, t appointment, and school Christmas concert...all one right after another. A snow day would mean just T appointment!

Hey all...

So, back to mom's apartment today. It's coming along nicely. It's a lot of extra stress though, and I'll be glad when it's done. She isn't ready to sleep there. Sigh. Soon though, very soon. She is HAPPY with it, which means a lot to me. As much as I detest her, I do want her to be happy. Every human being deserves a soft place to fall at the end of the day.

Love and peace.

Play nice.

Stay off of Stopdog's lawn or I will have to get jiggy with it.

Hello couch..

It's Friday. I hardly worked this week. Next week will be very different. And I'm working tomorrow night because I'm a nice employee. They ask for 1 date night a month..so this is it for December.

Dear couch,

I got to my university early this morning and managed to get a decent seat at the lectures held by this year's Nobel prize laureates in medicine (Randy Schekman, James E. Rothman and Thomas Südhof). I was worried that I wasn't going to get a seat but it all worked out, which I'm thankful for. Listening to the three professors talking about their work and what they had discovered was challenging for an undergraduate like me, but very inspiring at the same time. A fun thing happened at the end of the lectures. Professor Rothman had purchased a Swedish student cap (it looks like this: http://www.humanus.se/utb/lund/wp-co...m%C3%B6ssa.jpg) and asked some of the students who attended the lectures to sign the inside of the cap as some sort of souvenir for him to take home. So now an actual Nobel prize laureate has my signature in a student cap he's bringing back to the US. I don't know about you but I think that's a pretty cool thing.

Just wanted to share. Hope you're all doing well.

Neutrino
