Hello Everyone :-)

So I'm new to this site but I've been an admirer since starting therapy(4 weeks ago).
Any tips would be so helpful!

So my therapist is great! She truly is and I feel so comfortable with her.. However I have a hard time talking about .. Sex! I'm 21 years old and still get funny talking about sex.. It's hard to even say that word.. To anyone! But I need to talk to my psychologist about it but it's so embarrassing.. Any tips would mean a lot to me!
Thank you in advance

It might be easier if you have a specific question or problem you want to talk to your therapist about rather than trying to talk about "sex" in the larger-than-life sense? Don't think of it as "sex" but a specific behavior that bothers you -- get a little abstract and clinical about it, as if you were writing to Playboy's advice column?

Thanks! It's basically just in general that I want to be able to bring it up.. I get all embarrassed which is not normal for me because I'm a pretty outgoing person.. That's a good tip though.. :-)

I am older and shy and that subject is hard for me to bring up too...
I think Perna's suggestion was great!

Sometimes, it also helps me to email or to write down the question or to reference something I've read to start the conversation, and let T help the subject to evolve.

I love that you trust your T enough to want to talk things out with them...

Good luck,
Wysteria

I'm not sure if it's because I'm still a little immature about some things or if it just makes me nervous saying words like that lol. I have a feeling she's going to bring it up next week.. Ahh! I better start saying the word out loud a few times a day to help.
